Over all happy with the product. Works like it was made to but the reel guide that goes around to put the hose on the reel evenly broke! Unit still works to roll up the hose but not with ease. Contacted and sent pictures to company and getting a run around. For a simple partUpdate company is replacing the unit under warranty! Took a bit of email chats but they came through

Bought this late last year and didn’t assemble it until spring… my mistake, since I missed any chance for a return. This assembled easy and looks decent, though it feels a bit light weight. Seemed fine, but upon first use the “quick connectors” for the hose attachment repeatedly failed once the water was turned on. The connectors simply pop off under pressure. It disconnects between the faucet and reel, where the only option for connection is the quick connect. I’ll have to see if I can cobble together a threaded connection to make it workable. Disappointing that the item is essentially useless as is.

The hose reels locally were so expensive. My beef with this one is it leaks a bit.

We just purchased our fifth Gardena hose cart since 2013. The accompanying photo shows the latest model in front of first cart that we bought (which still functions and will be used elsewhere in the yard). Although the latest unit required assembly, it was very simple, requiring just a screwdriver. Gardena carts used to be premium priced, but this one was one half what we paid for the original; the benefit of self-assembly.As with all of our previous Gardena carts, this one is also made in Germany of quality plastics and rust-free aluminum, but the design has been improved for better stability and handling. This latest model features the welcome addition of a kickstand in front to keep it from falling forward, and an additional handle to which a useful hose guide is attached, making it easier to roll-up the hose.I noticed a surprising number of 1 star reviews that seems to have escaped Amazon's scrutiny as they appear written by a bot (run-on sentences) or in surprisingly poor English (by Gardena's foreign competitors?), and don't comport with my own experience with Gardena hose reels going back 11 years. Many of those negative comments recommend avoiding plastic in favor of metal, but I can tell you from personal experience that steel reels will rust and leak within the first year, so they're best avoided.We've found that these Gardena hose carts are best used with the Gardena brand 1/2" hose as they are durable (11 years of use and counting), light-weight (easier to roll-up), and their narrower diameter provides increased water pressure and less space on the reel (allowing for use of a longer length hose). Gardena's connector coupling designs offer another advantage as they can be re-adjusted and tightened over the hose even if they work loose over time.I'll provide a future update on this latest model, but so far I'm very impressed with the reduced pricing and the many improvements Gardena has incorporated without sacrificing the quality I've come to expect from them.

This works, okay. It's not heavy enough and falls over a lot, but I need it and I continue to use it. I would not purchase it again if it was to break.

This hose cart has been performing well since we bought it last year. Assembly was easy with the manual that came with it. The cart rolls up the hose evenly and there has been no leak at the connectors. Stability, leaks and uneven rolling were disappointing issues we have had with a cheap plastic cart that feels like a piece of junk. It was easy to roll the Gardena cart to the basement for hibernation and the space saving design was a definite plus. The Gardena is more expensive than entry level plastic carts but it's a lot sturdier and well worth the price.

Assembly was fairly straight forward and easy with snap-in pieces. The hose winding guide appears to function well but does not look very heavy duty so may be an issue if trying to wind a longer hose with more resistance (will have to watch for this). I noticed that the 5 ft. connector hose was labeled as only 1/2" even though I purchased the L version that reported reel capacity of 5/8" hose. Ridiculous to not include a 5/8" hose when the capacity is stated as using 5/8". Manufacturer saved a few cents on smaller diameter hose that I will have to go through trouble of replacing. Speaking of capacity, I purchased this model because it stated 260 ft. of 5/8" hose and I needed to allow for connection of 2-100 ft. long hoses. Attached picture shows that only 1-100 ft. hose plus 1-50 ft. hose (each 5/8") just about fills the reel beyond which the hose would start binding against the winding guide. Thats less than 100 ft below the reported capacity. I guess it's all legitimate because they state "up to 260 ft. 5/8" hose" so technically it could be anywhere between 0 ft. and 260 ft. (buyer beware!).Update: I contacted their customer service and was told this reel is only intended for 1/2" hose and that there is no statement of capacity for a 5/8" hose. I sent them back screen shot pictures clearly showing the L model stating capacity for 5/8" hose and their response was "Thanks for the reply and we understand, not a problem. We're still looking into this, and will reach back out as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience and we'll be in touch soon. Have a lovely day." Based on the runaround I've received so far; I'm assuming they will take no responsibility for capacity appearing to be overstated. I have since purchased a much cheaper boxed hose reel from Menards that stated 220' capacity and does indeed hold my 2-100' 5/8" diameter hoses with some room to spare (in fact, like it so much I plan to get another one). I guess I'll have to find another use for this one as it would be a real pain to disassemble for return.

I got this based on price and reported ease of design and assembly. It snaps together in like 2 mins. And it holds my 100' 3/4" hose. You do need to keep a little tension on the hose (probably due to the size) to have the guide keep it rolled close together, but I am ecstatic. I'm ordering (2) more.

This hose reels plastic parts constantly breaks. I needed a part and it was sent after a long wait. Now the handle is broke again. The hose continues to disconnect at the connection to the reel which causes you to completely unroll the hose put it back in place and connect again. It constantly falls over. Don’t buy you will be very disappointed..

This item was bought to replace my over 25 year old hose real. It is incredibly easy to assemble following the instructions. I love the design features, it’s extremely stable and the helix hose guide ensures the hose goes back on the real perfectly. I was a bit expensive but it’s very robust and I think it’s going to last a long time.
