This Chair is BIG!!
I was looking for a lift recliner for my wife to assist her with standing and sitting due to mobility issues related to Parkinsons. After much looking (she wanted cloth and I wanted quality and affordability) I chose the Catnapper Burns. It took about 7-10 days to get it. When the chair arrived, the carrier brought it to my garage and left it. I unpacked the chair and brought it in through the front door with no issues. After positioning it and hooking it up, I check all functions and it worked flawlwssly. Now for the real test; the wife. She came and sat in it and though comfortable, the chari's depth was too long for her to get into it good. It's a big chair and would work perfect for thise that are 5'10 or taller, but not for someone who is 5'2". I donlt remember the website saying that the depth was as long as it is, but I needed it a little wider than the last chair which was 19" so I settled for this one which was 23" across the seat from inside the arm to inside the other arm. So to make a long story short, here's a summary of my experience;1. If you do not choose white glove delivery where they will set it up in your house your better have a couple of strong guys. The chair is 137 lbs not to mention wrestling it out of the big box and pallet it comes on.2. The color in the picture is lighter than the actual color of the chair. The chair is more a darker brown thaqn the sand color depicted.3. If you are a shorter person that is less than 5"4", find a chair with a shorter depth; this one is long and meant for a taller person.4. the rating is at 450 lbs which is good, but it comes at a price both in weight and cost5. This chari will lay flat, but does not offer a Tredelenburg position where your feet will be elevated above your heart. If you need that, then look for that position specifically. All in all I rated it 4 stars and would have given it a 5 if the chair was not so deep fron the front of the seat to the back. I guess I'll need to find another for her and I'll keep this one for myself.

could be better made for the price.
the chair in,t as well made as you would think.first there are wide gaps between the cushions and the frame, causing everthing to fall into them.second the chair seem to sit at a right tilt. finally you need lots of room to recline it.

Sturdy, expensive, so-so comfort
I weigh around 370 pounds so recliners, particularly with lift capability, rated for that capacity are hard to find. This is rated to 400 pounds so it seemed promising, if more than a little pricey.I used the white glove in-home setup. Setup was quick -- two men carried the chair in (it looked a bit heavy) in two pieces. They affixed the back to the chair, plugged it in, tested the functions, and it was ready to go in 10 to 15 minutes. The chair does seem sturdy and the lift mechanism shows no sign of strain. I'm in a wheelchair and so, in transferring to and from the recliner I generally have to lean on the arms to steady myself. They do seem to flex a bit under stress, but while concerning, it hasn't been a problem so far.For the price of the chair I would have expected something a lot more comfortable. It isn't that the upholstery, the springs, etc. aren't comfortable, it is that the design geometry is wrong. FYI, I am about 5'10'' tall.If I sit down in the chair with the bend in my knee matching where the chair bends to the footrest, when I raise the footrest, my feet and ankles will be dangling over the edge and my back will be at an angle which eventually results in pain and problems in my leg (I have a herniated disk which is pressing on the nerve to my leg and this appears to aggravate it). On the other hand if I lay the chair flat and use my feet to push me toward the top of the chair, when I raise it again my ankles are now supported, my back is better supported but my butt feels a little like it is squeezed into a crevice (not bad, but it takes some getting used to). Further, I don't like that the footrest always droops a bit. Other recliners I've used would allow the foot rest to raise up higher than the hips which is both more comfortable and helps with circulation issues in the legs.I would never use this laid flat as there is a hard bar that digs right into the back when it is flat -- it is much better if it is raised a bit.Supposedly there is a battery backup if the power fails. I don't know if the guys who installed the chair installed a battery, I don't know where the battery goes and since I'm in a wheelchair, I probably couldn't change the battery anyway.Overall, it seems like a well-built chair, but for over $1000 it seems like it should be more comfortable.
