JDCMotorcycle Waterproof Rain Over Jacket Hi-Vis - SHIELD

Bought this in late August , and tucked it away in my panniers. Used it for the first time today 2 Oct and by the time I'd done 60 miles the tiny toothed zip had seperated at the bottom. It's now too late to return because that has to be done within 30 days...Reasonable jacket,let down by the cheapest possible zip that could be found.

Has not fared well in heavy rain and my daily commute is only about 20 minutes. Is OK in light rain / drizzle, but the zip is very poor quality and has already failed twice. If I'm lucky I reckon I will get about 20 to 30 uses out of the jacket before the zip is completely knackered.I expect this would be a good quality jacket if a heavier duty zip replaced the cheap flimsy one that is currently fitted. If I thought it would last I would spray with an additional waterproofing agent, but I expect this will end up in the bin well before the end of winter.

Bought the jacket to where over the top of my motorcycle jacket, wore it to work, 50 minutes commute, in rain and wind.Sorry to say it leaked at stomach area, back shoulders and arms great and dry but stomach soaked.Very disappointed. Zip isn't to good either, has come undone at bottom a couple of times.

The jacket seems to be well built and it keeps the cold weather and rain out 100%.I have used it a few times now as I commute to and from work every day on a motorcycle and it does what it says on the tin. The two tone black and high vis yellow of the jacket is a good safety feature when riding in the dark, I could of got away with a smaller size jacket as there is plenty of room and is a generous fit. So far so good with this jacket. The delivery was reasonably quick, no complaints.

Not used in wet yet. Size bought was XL but is a bit big. I'm 6'4" and wear an Alpine Stars Andes Tourer jacket in Large. Normally I'm a 42" chest. It'll do the job but is a bit flappy. Could actually have gonr for 4" smaller but then I don't know what the arm length would be like. At £20 I'll stick with it. Material seems fine. Zip may be a little flimsy. Only reason for 4 stars is that I've not got wet yet.

So taking tests and lessons in December is not the best time weather wise. I decided to get an extra layer of high viz and waterproofness .. well 7 hours of -2c 40mph wind and constant rain .. I was warm and dry and passed .. good fit, comfortable and adjustable ..

I bought this product to replace another JDC full body waterproof that unfortunately became unusable due to the zip breaking. However it did last me a fair while.This jacket I ordered a few sizes too big to go over my motorcycle jacket. On first try it seems a good size and good quality material for the price except for the zip again is non-branded as expected so I wonder how long this will last. I have not worn in the rain yet so will have to see about that also.All in all very satisfied with the jacket.
