Hard-bristled brush is the way it should be for removing stains from teeth
This toothbrush has changed my dental hygiene routine forever. Hyperbole, you say? Well, it's true. This toothbrush is enough to make you think twice about how much toothpaste companies push soft toothbrushes and whitening products. I'm starting to think the margins on whitening products are much higher, because something that removes stains so effectively is a direct threat to the toothpaste companies' sustainable revenue models. This toothbrush has very hard bristles. You could conceivably use this toothbrush to degrease bicycle chains or clean the gunk out of anything with grooves. But when used on teeth, it immediately removes stains that look like they will not come out (except, of course, with a whitening product of some kind). I drink tea and wine, and the stains they leave behind can be very stubborn. I have used a SonicCare toothbrush for years (and still do), and the SonicCare has never been as effective as this toothbrush is at removing stains. And the effect can sometimes be a bit dramatic, because most toothbrushes remove the plaque on your teeth, but not the stains. So when the stains come out, you might be thinking, "is this the way brushing is supposed to be?"Surface stains will eventually become tooth stains if left alone. But if you use a mild abrasive toothpaste or polishing compound with this toothbrush, most of those stains will disappear very easily. I now use this toothbrush once a week with baking soda toothpaste to get out the week's stains. And it works like a charm. Your gums may need a few weeks to get used to the hardness of the bristles, but believe me, it is worth it. Especially if you drink tea, coffee, wine, or other stain-causing drinks.DISCLAIMER: this toothbrush will NOT remove fluoride stains from teeth. It is only effective at removing surface stains from teeth. I would also recommend rinsing with a fluoride rinse after brushing your teeth with this brush, as the bristles may take off a super-thin layer of enamel in order to get the stains out. Better safe than sorry.

I feel like it wouldn't take much to break it
The bristles were very hard, the handle very thin. I feel like it wouldn't take much to break it.
