Quality & Aesthetic Met - Good alternative if you hate neon highlighters
After having these Zebra Mildliners for around 3 years, I can say they're worth the price in terms of quality and how long they last. I've used them for my orgo lab reports. I think if you wanted brighter colors you could go for the more pastel ones that are still in the Mildliner line. things I like: - the 2 sided nibs help if you want to highlight or use the pointed tip to underline or draw lines - the color isn't the typical neon highlights and is more muted overall - the marker ink doesn't dry out, I don't use them daily but for the price, I feel it's good - the packaging is basically a case you can reuse and take with you in your backpack notes for each color: - I find myself gravitating to green a lot because it's bright enough to still read the text and a typical highlighter color (works fine with black and blue pens; the contrast helps on blue Bic pens) - the pink/red color is my next used color but it might be harder to read words (works better with black pens than blue) - the pastel purple is light enough to where it feels like a highlighter so it's my next used (works well with black or blue ink) - the blue can be a little dark so I feel I don't use it that much for highlighting (though it works still) - same with the grey, it's definitely light enough to use still but it doesn't make the words pop cons: - depending on how thin the sheets are there is some bleed through - for regular notebook paper there's going to be some bleeding but it just might be mine are still inky - for the Exceed Walmart planners I used that had 75gsm or 100 gsm pages the bleed wasn't too bad and the highlighting was smooth on the page - the bleed on thicker copy paper/printing paper isn't too bad though it might depend on the thickness notes on packaging: - lol Zebra is a Japanese stationery brand and since the OG Mildliners is shipped, it's in Japanese - personally, it didn't affect me and I think it's cool but I guess if you wanted something in English you'd have to find the ones made to be sold in the US or something

The BEST highlighters
Have been using these for about three years at this point. If you use highlighters frequently then these are the only ones you should be using. The color is not too harsh so that the text remains readable and the mise en scène of the entire page undamaged. These are also extremely long lasting compared to the normal highlighters. And, aren't they just so aesthetically peasant and fun to use?

The dual ends are great for basic highlighting text as well as underlining and ...
I adore these highlighters. Not only is there a variety of colors to select, but they are both chisel- and bullet-tipped. The dual ends are great for basic highlighting text as well as underlining and accenting other notes or drawings. I use these highlighters everyday, and they've held up quite well. I have the original orange/yellow/light blue/light pink/turquoise-green pack as well, and it has lasted me well over a year of regular use -- I believe these ones have only lost pigment/strength very slightly, but they're still good. As for this pack, the lime-green/dark periwinkle blue/lavender/gray/dark-coral-pink set, the blue and pink are the most pigmented, which, at times, can be slightly unappealing. TLDR; Pros: - great variety of colors, love using them for all kinds of note-taking and drawings - long lasting - sleek and uniform, can fit easily into pencil cases - dual-tips = versatile and useful Cons: - coral-pink and deep-periwinkle (maybe others) might be too dark (possibly making the text obscure) depending on the applied pressure and paper - EDIT (7/12/16) smears more than I'd like it to - EDIT (7/12/16) the bullet and chisel tips definitely get squished and smooshed and compromises the accuracy of the highlight!

A good marker for sketching and doodling...
So nice! Nice colors, nice application of color. I like to use the gray for shading sketches its a very nice gray. I would get the full range if I could. I like that the color doesn't bleed through the next page of my sketch book. I use these for bullet journaling/art journaling and I am not disappointed in the results. I use sharpie writing pens and there is some bleeding that occurs with the use of the mild liner, but I have found that it is less if you allow the sharpie ink to set for a few seconds. I like the effect so that is not a negative for me in any way. Wish I had these for college, I don't read highlighted (highlighter color) very well, something about the contrast between the black/white and yellow.

Great.
the darker the color, the more likely to bleed. So wouldn't recommend for bibles but they do have quite lovely colors and the bleeding is not as harsh as it could be and as cheaper highlighters will do often, so I use them anyway. i hate the waxy gel highlighters too though so thats also why i use these. These are great for studying too, it helps keep things easily color coded in notes or by topics. I use pilot G2 gel pens so far nothing is smearing (keep in mind i do wait for the black ink to dry first though ). the colors are not too dark so you still see your writings. i love that they're double ended as well so i can write with these too.

Love them so much!! bought the other 2 packs of different colors. Well packed, came 1 week earlier than expected from Japan. Love the soft hues and the 2 different sizes of the tips. Great buy! Japanese stationnary are the best. Exactly as shown.

Below is my review from 4 years ago- this is my review now. I bought the other set (Redefined, warm colours) after 4 years of daily use from my cool set. I can't be happier with these pens - after SO long and so much use, none have dried out, they're still excellent and I use them all the time. It's very very rare for a pen to last this long. Plus I love the colours, they're so nice to look at. I'm very happy to have this other set to add to my collection. And after they gained popularity, they're much faster to ship. All I need is the other sets now! --- Took a while to arrive as it's from japan. The colours are unusual and very nice. I especially love the grey one. It doesn't give you headaches to look at, unlike regular neon highlighters, but still stands out. Easy to use as well, double ended. Doesn't bleed through paper. The colours are more pastel so you can still see your writing underneath. The tip on the pointy side wears down a little over time. I've been using these every day since I got them, so I'm not surprised.
