The fans are beautiful. The painted portion is painted on semi-sheer fabric, so if you hold it up against the light, you can sort of see through it. But this does not affect it's ability as a fan. It is very beautifully painted. It looks delicate but rather sturdy. The wood parts are cleanly cut, so no splinters here - yay! It also comes with a matching colored sheath for each fan, which is a bonus, so the fan is protected when I put it in my purse. I would buy more of these for friends.

Fans are pretty BUT I’ve had other fans that are similar and these are flimsy. I use them often due to hot flashes and these are getting less and less stiff by the day. I’ve had them a few weeks and I’m going to order a different brand today. These don’t hold up to daily use very long. One has a split blade already. My last fan, a different brand, lasted over a year with no loss of stiffness and no broken bands. Unfortunately, it was no match to a stray puppy I had taken in. Totally my fault there!

These are beautiful!!! I did have a little trouble getting the fans to open as they were a bit stuck but with wood and silk, it was just tacky from the glue warming during shipping. I was able to separate them gently with no damage. The intricacies in the wood are very beautiful! I am very happy with this purchase!!!

I am on Tamoxifen due to cancer. One of the side effects is hot flashes and the fans help. I keep one in my purse and one next to my chair at home. Perfect!!

Print is pretty but the materials and design is super cheap. If you're going for pretty and does the job, go for something cheaper in price.

Quality material, vibrant colors and works very well in hot humid (Florida) weather.
