Excellent book that causes one to think outside the paradigms, or how one was raised and modified by life's experiences. You won't see this book in churches or synagogues, as it reveals the hypocrisies of religious leaders when one steps outside his/her worldview and enters in a philosophical way of thinking outside the constraints of man's doctrine. The book has been around, maybe it's a classic, but you can't put down once you get into it.

Heschel is beautiful in the way he sees the world. Read if you need a book to color this world in a hue of majesty.

I teach confirmation class and will certainly use this book for reference. Heschel's books always teach me to be a better Christian.
