Intro to a artist of many talents.
James Tissot was a artist that I had heard of but never studied. This book introduces you to a artist who has photographic precision, a technique which is rich in colour and precise in detail. "The fireplace" by Tissot shows a execution of detail in the women's dress that is breathtaking! Tissot side job as a illustrator for Vanity Fair served him well. But it's his time at the Louvre probably studying DiVinc's Mona Lisa eyes that draws you into each of the works in this book. This book is a excellent introduction to this artist. And would recommend this book not only for anyone studying art but also costume design of the early twentieth century.
