Polycell 3 in 1 Basecoat 2.5L

Had some previous damp patches and filled patches so opted for a base coat to help the paint stick. It seems good quality although is very thick so coverage is low but easy to apply and good functionality

The walls in our porch were not great, over the years they had been painted and filled resulting in a poor surface finish. I considered having the walls replastered but it's only a porch so I thought I'd give this clever paint a try. It goes on like a regular, if slightly thicker, emulsion paint but the results are remarkable. Considering the state of the walls beforehand the results are excellent, I wish I'd known about this paint years ago.

Ok paint but does take a few coats to cover dark walls

I hadn't realised that such a product existed.I wanted to overprint a test of a silk emulsion and thought that I'd use my sander to save time and effort. Only after I finished did I realise that I used an 80 grit sheet and the wall was as rough as a badger's backside. I was ready to resand using a higher grit when my wife suggested a 'thick' paint. I found this and thought it was worth a shot. One coat applied with a roller and then three coats of the matt emulsion and it looks pretty good.The original paint was a dark red, so I'll carry on using this to cover that and then the grey will look a whole lot better.

Nothing not to like. Covered over dark grey paint brilliantly.It’s a shame I had to paint over the top of it because it was so bright and fresh.

Package not good, and bit of leakage coz of package squashed, does say fragile, should say this way up, but apart from that great price.

We didn’t expect much from this to be honest. Hairlines cracks completely disappeared. We tried our luck on a wider crack in landing ceiling. 3 coats and it returned a few weeks later, but still looks better than it did.For hairline cracks amazing. For bigger cracks won’t solve your issues.We did have an issue with the paint peeling. Thin layers and wait for over 6 hours to avoid this. Takes a lot longer to dry than traditional paint.

Vety good, used to paint over a masking tape geometric design my daughter had done on one wall in very bright colours. Two coats smoothed the surface very well and blocked the brightest colours. Expensive but worth it.
