Rising Water: The Story of the Thai Cave Rescue

We all heard about the issues of the soccer team trapped in a cave system that had filled with water. They were approximately 5 miles back from the opening. How the world came together and how they accomplished this rescue probably hasn't been explained well to the public. This book does this very well. It will keep you enthralled thru your reading it. You can only buy it by paper back, no e-book version was available when I bought it. Well worth the price.

My daughter chose this book for her 7th grade reading project and enjoyed it a lot. It’s based on a true story and is an amazing story of survival! She was only disappointed in the timelines that gave spoiler alerts so she wasn’t ever unaware of how the ending would go.

I used this book with my granddaughter’s book club, boys and girls ages 7-11. They loved the book!

This book, intended for the Young Adult audience, is an engaging account of a dramatic tale. Aronson employed a team of researchers to provide context to the event that captured the world's attention. The language is simple yet elegant and the story is told in a straightforward manner that fills in many of the gaps for those who may have been aware of the situation but not all the complex details surrounding it.The section at the end discussing some aspects of how the book was written provides interesting illumination on the challenges of a Western author tackling a drama played out on a Thai stage. It also raises some of the loose ends involved in a current event as it passes into history.

I ordered the book because I read a write-up on it. I was not disappointed at all. It was, as far as I know, factual and understandable as to the how and why it happened. The boys were brave and had faith.

Such a wonderful story. Documentary is amazing too.

Perfect book for middle grade readers! My students love the story and the images and the chapter at the end where Marc discusses how he researched the book.

A very shallow treatment of events. Each brief chapter reads like a collection of snippets from other sources which, while no doubt factually accurate, are related with little flair and a total lack of narrative drive.As notes for a more comprehensive account it has its place, but the reader has the right to expect more for the not neglible sum demanded.
