Best value and quality I’ve ever bought!
I’ve bought other frames before for more money and even had wood slates, that didn’t hold up as good as this one. I did a lot of research this go around, and found this one on many lists as a quiet and durable bed frame-which was a concern for me. Have had it for 4 months now and zero sound or squeak when getting in or out or moving around. I bought the heavy duty even though at 145lbs I could have saved a little and bought the regular. What I was most surprised at first glance was how thin the frame looked out of the box and how lightweight it was. I thought I had made a mistake with this one, but I was proven wrong. It’s incredibly sturdy. The matress does not move around. The frame stays in place but can be moved without a lot of pressure if I need to clean underneath. It was so easy to put together, also. Literally snaps into place and a few screws tightened. Took about 10min or less. I love that there is storage space under my bed now also. A really great quality purchase.

Wonderful bed frame.
For reference, I've owned this bed frame for almost 5 years. I came back to write a review because I like it so much.Pros:- easy to install- I love the recessed feet so you don't bang your toes on them. I've never hit my toe on the feet of this bed.- extremely sturdy. We have a full latex mattress that weighs over 200 lb in addition to both me and my wife sleeping on the bed. It's never bent or deformed in any way.- The underbed storage is great. There is plenty of roomCons:- I haven't found one yetIs it a decent value for the money? Absolutely. This would be my go-to if I ever needed a new bed frame. Is it durable or decent quality? Very much so. It's less expensive then many others but feels top-notch.Is it easy to use? Very easy to put together and set up.Does it match the description/photos? Yes. It looks very nice and just like the description photos. Color was exactly what I thought it would be.Does the bed slide on the frame? Surprisingly, not at all.

Updated: Full review two years later! (Preliminary Review: Unboxing and set-up)
I will write a full review of this bed frame after I have used it for a while but wanted to give a preliminary review first.I've had it for about a month before setting it up (waiting to get a new mattress and get rid of my futon), so it's been in the box which was on the large side but was able to tuck it away in my kitchen for a few weeks. I live on the third floor of an apartment building and while the box was a bit bulky and heavy, I was able to get it up to my apartment by myself with no problem. I'm a big girl with a not-so-great back, but it was definitely manageable.Having forgotten anything I read in the reviews about assembly, I was expecting a cumbersome set-up job with a lot of little parts and pieces and metal clanging around as I jostled this frame around my tiny little one-room apartment. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the frame consists of two separate pieces that fold out, and are then joined together by two screws in the middle. THAT IS IT!! Putting it all together took me about 20 minutes. Probably would have been less if I had more room and wasn't having to rearrange other furniture almost every step of the way.I have my new mattress set-up on the frame and expanding now (I got a Tuft and Needle original mattress which is a little longer than the frame, so not sure if that's a frame issue or mattress issue, but hardly noticeable) and was impressed with how easy it was to move the frame during the unboxing of the mattress and how lightweight it is. I am honestly a little apprehensive about the two pieces of the frame staying together with two screws as the butterfly bolts don't screw as tightly as I would like. I anticipate maybe having to find a washer or nut or something else to just make sure the fastener doesn't come off, but that's super easy so I'm not too worried about it.I did really appreciate that the hardware (two long screws and two butterfly bolts) came in a package together so it was easy to set them aside and not have to worry about them flying around. Oh! I also really appreciate that the frame came with two non-slip pads that are often used for carpets. That will hopefully help prevent the mattress from slipping off the frame. The storage capacity underneath this frame is AMAZING! Because there are two braces in the middle of each section, the storage underneath is in two sections divided horizontally but I can fit so much stuff under just one section because of the height which I am loving in my small apartment. The stuff from under my futon is now under ONE section of this frame, leaving me so much more room to store things that have been getting in the way.I will give it a full review after sleeping on it for about a week, but I'm optimistic that I will be highly satisfied!****UPDATED REVIEW****Two years later I am back to finally update this review! And two years later I am still 100% satisfied withthis bed frame! When I moved last summer (Aug. 2020), taking this apart on moving day was a snap and it took me five minutes to set it up at my new place. I had previously been worried about the two screws joining the sections coming loose but that has been a non-issue in the last two years. I eventually added a bed skirt to help conceal the totes and things I have underneath, but the storage space has been such a game-changer for me, even when I moved to a bigger apartment. The frame is super quiet and holds up with some company in the bed, so no complaints there! ; )I really cannot recommend this frame enough, it is one of the best Amazon purchases I have made. If you're looking for something sturdy, easy to put together (seriously only like FOUR PIECES in total!), excellent under-bed storage, and durable, GET THIS FRAME!

Just when you thought storage couldn't get any better...
I usually don’t review furniture, but I’m compelled to make an exception. After six weeks of using the queen-sized 18-inch SmartBase foundation, I can’t speak highly enough of it (and everyone I already know is tired of hearing me go on, so I’m in need of a new audience). Here are the top reasons why I declare this foundation the boss.1. Easy assembly. I come from a history of wooden bed frames and European-style foundations, and the comparative ease with which I put this new product together is outrageous. It’s light as can be, and I succeeded in assembling it within minutes. It’s really just a matter of unfolding the two foundation halves and securing them with screws. I will say that even though you technically don’t need tools for this, it wouldn’t hurt to have a wrench for tightening the wing nuts…unless, of course, your fingers are already toughened from a career of construction or oyster shucking.2. Sturdiness. This thing is 12-legged rock. Even after two 210+ -pound individuals have monkeyed around on top of it (with a 10-inch mattress), it feels absolutely solid. Not a hint of a squeak, even after my weirdo boyfriend literally walked across it like an elevated sidewalk. Time will tell whether it maintains this performance, but the stout design – with its multitude of legs supporting virtually every part of the structure – appears excellent for supporting weight over a long period of time. I expect that in a few decades from now, when I’m 70, I’ll still have it and be inventing reasons to get rid of this old thing.3. STORAGE. I was tempted to just leave the space beneath the bed empty so I’d have a place to crawl into when the urge hit me, but opted to put it to other use. Just about everything you’ve heard about how much junk you can cram under here is true. After moving out of the old house and into an apartment, virtually my entire past fits under this foundation. The four middle legs and support bars slightly limit the amount of applicable space (especially when compared to the Quick Snap Platform Bed Frame), but truly, we’re talking about so much room that it won’t make much difference. You could throw a party underneath this thing.Coupled with a 10-inch latex foam mattress, this foundation forms a special structure in my home called The Cloud. It’s an innocuous name for a powerhouse that regularly renders me unconscious, but it’s just so comfortable. I readily recommend this guy.UPDATE 12/10/18: Almost 17 months later, I stand by everything I've written previously. This thing is excellent.

TALL, quiet, sturdy, and easy to assemble
Two nights of use and happy so far (June, 2016). I always write updates if my opinion changes, so if no comments, assume I am still happy with the purchase. This was incredibly easy to assemble (I actually think it was made more difficult by having a second person helping and getting in each other's way with the limited space in the room). Just unfold, fold out legs, secure braces on 4 legs (I had to unscrew the wing-nuts a bit to make that happen), tighten wing-nuts - repeat with other side, flip over and line up (rounded edges to the outside) and screw together two sides with bolts and wing nuts that slide through pre-drilled holes. That is it - easy peasy. Make sure to get the legs completely straight and listen for the "click" as the braces are pushed in place. I think most people who have had issues in the past either had defective items to start with (e.g., damaged in delivery) or failed to get the braces fully into place so the legs are fully engaged.Comfort-wise: much more comfortable than when I had my mattress directly on the floor. However, it was slightly more comfortable with my old wooden platform bed from Ikea. But, at 1/3 the price (this was just under $100 when I ordered it), I am fine with this alternative.Height: it is tall. I am 5'5" and have to get on tippy-toes to get into bed. It reminds me of staying at a hotel with the extra tall beds. I probably would have preferred the regular 14 inch bed, but the current price was nearly twice the price of the tall frame, and my back could not take another week of sleeping on the floor. The extra height is great for storing space, but a pain for finding an appropriate skirt. I managed to order the wrong size skirt, so I have yet to comment on how well that works. There is plenty of storage space underneath. For now, it is just a playground for my cat.Noise: none. nada. not a squeak or a peep.Optional non-skid pad: I ordered a set of non-skid pads, but they are on backorder, so I will have to update after they arrive. I went for the set of 2 pads, as recommended for people choosing to use a bedskirt. The idea is to put one between the frame and the bedskirt, and the second goes between the bedskirt and the mattress. I will see if it helps, as I did have to push the mattress back into place this afternoon - it shimmied about an inch to one side since being set up.

Deluxe option perfect for my extra heavy body and additional weight from dogs
My review is for the FULL sized, DELUXE option. I read through many reviews across multiple brands of foundation/frames. I looked for information pertaining to the durability, sturdiness, longevity of each with particular interest toward reviews that mentioned heavy individuals that sleep with big dogs. Specific, I know.Seems that ALL of the foundation frames have a rating for well over a thousand pounds. Feeling better about my 300lbs, I figured I would be fine with any one of them, even when including the weight of my mattress and that of my two big labs.YET, so many people mention creaking beds, frame pieces that bend, etc and they are normal to light weighted people. So I jumped from product to product trying to find something I thought would be a good purchase. If not, my plan was to use a typical frame and box spring. When I came across THIS product, I saw that they recommended their "Deluxe" option for heavier individuals."Reinforced stability with t-shape leg construction and locking system / Best fit for larger than average weight people"Ok, no matter how I spin it, that is me. I still hemmed and hawed, especially when I saw other products at least resembling it-- but that didn't mean it actually was the same product. I went ahead at put it in my cart while I took another peek at the perks and details. Clearly I went ahead with it, paid the extra for the Deluxe. Maybe the regular would have been fine. Maybe the Deluxe could have been a waste. My experience so far has been stellar, so I am very pleased to have plunked down the extra cash to buy the DELUXE option.--Design- legs set back so as not to smash your toes. I wouldn't have thought about it except some reviewers mentioned it (thank you reviewers)! The recessed legs are a safety and comfort feature. If you have stubbed your toes on a bed foot, know that this thoughtful feature will be greatly appreciated by all who walk near the bed. (again, Deluxe frame)--Ease of "assembly". I put that in quotes because it isn't much of an assembly needed. The frame comes in two narrow cot sized frames. These are set up super easy by just unfolding and straightening out the legs. The legs just need to be attended to by hooking a stabilizing arm and tightening a wing nut. Do this for all, then flip upright and put into position. Even easier is connecting the two frames to make one full sized frame. Bold and nut are provided. All done!--If you want more detail, look further down the product page to "Technical Specification". You will find a highlighted link that will open a User Manual. From there you will quickly see what needs to be done. It takes barely any time. I even had cats and dogs trying to "help" me in a small space and it added no time.--Sturdiness: My full sized bed is set up on a carpeted floor. I imagine that makes a difference, but I do not know. The surface of the frame is smooth- no pointy, sharp edges, so there was NO issue with it catching the material of my mattress. I don't recall if that was ever an issue here, but I recall seeing it across several reviews perhaps from other brands.--I have been using my bed nightly for a month. My two labs and sometimes a few cats join me- no creaking or unwanted movement. My husband and I have two full sized beds set up side by side to accommodate our large furry family, and to allow for better rest, yet he occasionally also um.. "joins" me, (and I know you know what I mean). No issues there either. Bed is still standing firmly in place!--I totally love the space under the bed. So do my cats, and at first, so did my dogs. It was this mysterious magical land to be explored. I don't really use it for storage at this time, but I like the option. All my pics include my curious menagerie. Orange cat, Charlie demonstrates difference in height (floor clearance) from typical frame to this frame. Huge difference! While my husband also has a full sized bed, his is currently a typical low frame, with a box spring, and topped with a mattress. Mine is this tall frame and a hybrid mattress (that comes in a box), and all together, side by side they are the same height. I hope to replace his with exact same set up as mine, eventually. So far, I am super pleased with this frame. I keep up with my reviews and will definitely come back if I have any further thoughts, revelations, problems, or even to just say it is still going well.

PERFECT for Storage + Completely Silent + SOLID Quality Steel Construction
Sturdy, affordable, completely silent and the PERFECT solution for under bed storage. I purchased the Queen sized mattress base which allows for appx. 17" of storage height underneath. One of the photos in the description shows the height with an arrow showing the 14" then 'up' 4" and I was left with the impression that the bed had adjustable legs. It does not have adjustable legs, but since I expected to leave it 'adjusted' to the full height anyhow, I wasn't concerned either way.The bed assembly took all of 15 minutes and the steel is solid and sturdy with absolutely zero squeak. The legs are capped with plastic covers so no scratched floors. The legs are also recessed about 5" from the corners to save your toes from being mashed when you walk around the bed, which is an exciting change from my traditional bed frame (my mangled toes thank you, Zinus). I have a 10" memory foam mattress and the height is just right with my height at 5'2".STORAGE! I am able to fit a two Sterilite 66 qt Clearview totes (23 5/8" L x 16 3/8" W x 13 1/4" H) next to one another under each quadrant of the Queen base with room to spare above and in front of each tote (again, no mashed toes) OR three stacked under-bed storage totes (generic sized, no wheels) under each quadrant. The space above the Sterilite tote is sufficient space to store a queen sized blanket and the space in front is room enough for two size 7.5 shoes sideways. The under bed totes have no room above and come to the edge of the bed frame with no extra room. There is also additional storage space between the leg and the appx 5" recess against the head of the bed (which for me is the wall; no headboard); we found that standard sized shoe boxes fit perfectly here.NON-SLIP PAD: Several of the reviews mentioned needing the non-slip mat between the mattress and the bed. I have found that it is not necessary and the mattress does not slip or move while in use. However, with a little effort, you will be able to 'slide' the mattress, similar to a traditional mattress, in order to make the bed. I was concerned at first about not having a buffer between the steel and the mattress and the rungs causing damage or indentations. I'm relieved that this hasn't been the case. I'm sure this can vary based on mattress brand, but it hasn't been an issue for me with my Lucid 10" memory foam mattress. By the way, the Amazon base does not come with the non-slip mat, though I believe it does with the direct purchase from the Zinus site.EXTRAS: I can easily see packing and using this frame for an extended camping trip with an air mattress or having an extra base stored for when company visits. It folds down quite compactly, which you'll notice clearly upon delivery. I personally think the twin would make an exceptional foundation for seasonal (no precipitation) deck seating/lounging and the storage underneath is perfect for outdoor items. So overall, I'm beyond thrilled with the quality and performance of the Zinus SmartBase Mattress Base. I've recommended it to anyone who'll listen to me sing the unending praises of a mattress base (surprisingly at least a dozen) and will not hesitate to order another should the need arise. Very highly recommended!!

That Was Easy!
I bought this SmartBase to go along with a Zinus hybrid mattress I ordered. My old mattress and box spring were way beyond the end of their lives and I needed to replace them. I did not want to have to buy another box spring to go with the new mattress so I chose to go with the SmartBase. I chose this particular one because it was their most sturdy model and I liked the extra height of the unit. This base was EXTREMELY easy to put together. It came in a square box that was not too heavy, which made it easy to get up the stairs to my second floor bedroom and was simple to unpack. The frame comes in two rectangular pieces. All you have to do to assemble it is straighten the legs, hook in the support bars in the four corners and tighten the wing nuts, then use the two bolts and wing nuts to secure the two pieces of the SmartBase -- one bolt the top and one at the bottom. From unpacking to final setup, it took less than 10 minutes.I had also ordered the brackets to attach the head and foot boards from my traditional-style sleigh bed to the SmartBase, but discovered that I didn't need them. I simply removed the wood slats from the side rails of my bed and put the SmartBase inside the entire bed frame. It was a great fit and I didn't have to deconstruct the bed! I did get a gripper-type pad to place on top of the base to keep the mattress from sliding and also bought a bed skirt to cover up the 6" or so that the SmartBase showed over the top of the bed's side rails. So far I'm very pleased with the SmartBase. It provides very sturdy support and appears that it will last for a very long time. Although I have no plans to move in the near future, I am glad I won't ever have to wrangle an inflexible box spring up and down the stairs again! This base is ideal for moving, as it folds up compactly and is easy to transport. Overall I think the price was fair and the quality excellent. This SmartBase was a very good buy for me.

Meets all the manufacturer's claims
EDIT 2: Feb 2019I've had this frame for well over a year at this point, and it's still fantastic. I've moved, and disassembly/reassembly literally takes seconds. Still as sturdy (and COMPLETELY SILENT) as the day I bought it. However! The price has nearly doubled! I purchased this frame at something like $110 taxes in. Now I see it being sold for $200?!?! Do I recommend it? YES! Would I have paid $200? Not a chance. I would be looking at Zinus' own website, or find some other supplier if the price is this high on Amazon. This frame is awesome, and 100% worth having, but wow, the price doubling is not cool in my opinion.EDIT: 3 Months After PurchaseStill no issues. Its still solid, it's still silent. Really glad I bought this frame. I may make a headboard or something when I have more room, but for now it meets all my needs and I love it.I just put this frame together, and I have to say, the reviews seem accurate so far! It takes 10-15 minutes to assemble by yourself, maybe less if you have a friend to help. Although the legs already have rubber caps, I placed them on rubber glides for extra support on my hardwood floor, and so far it feels sturdy and makes absolutely no noise at all. My only small complaint is that there was no hex key included in the package to help you tighten the bolts holding the two halves of the frame together, but since I have plenty of tools, it was really a non issue for me. There's plenty of space beneath for storage, and so far I'm very happy with my purchase. Obviously, if I have any troubles, I'll come back and update this review, but for now, in terms of meeting the product's claims, value for money, and ease of assembly, I feel this frame deserves the full 5 stars!

Easy, sturdy, compact, great storage
Easily set up in about 10 minutes by 2 middle-aged women who didn't want to put their glasses on to read the instructions. I found that the diagonal support pieces (that you have to swing into place and then tighten the wing-nuts on) were a bit stubborn - they seemed very tight and then suddenly snapped in place. We made sure everything was snug before we put the mattress in place.I've been using it for a month now, no creaking and it feels sturdy. My only issue is that I wish the clearance was a bit higher. The 18" model was about twice the price for the extra 2" height, so I decided to try this. The 18" would have allowed me to use my existing Rubbermaid 68L totes; instead, I made a trip to a local store and bought 2 kinds of Sterilite totes, alternating the 2 different lengths and widths, to use all the space underneath. Even these were a bit tight at the top, so I added rubber furniture cups under the legs, and that gave me just enough room so it doesn't grab at the top. Solved!

Sturdy, silent, easy to use
I have always just put my bed on a box spring on the floor, but I felt I needed more storage in a small living space so, after some looking around I bought this.I had, at first, been hesitant about a metal frame because they are usually so unstable and tend to squeak with every movement. I always slept like crap on metal frames because I am a light sleeper and need a good amount of back support. But the frame had good reviews and was incredibly cheap compared to more fashionable wooden frame options. Too my delight, I found that this frame has none of the problems I was concerned about. It's really light and easy to put together - essentially, the legs just fold out and latch into place. That doesn't sound like a sturdy setup, but trust me, it is; the metal is very thick. The entire thing folds together for easy moving if you need it. I honestly think you could even use it as a camping cot with a blow up mattress and something to put between it and the slats, simply because of how light and easy it is to move.If you're looking for a quiet metal frame with lots of storage space underneath, I'd absolutely recommend this one. My housemate ended up going with a slightly different model from the same brand and she's very happy with it as well.

Great bed frame.
We love our new frame....it's perfect. It was very easy to assemble...it came in just two sections that get bolted together. Even our cats love it cause now they both fit underneath it.
