Great finish to your project!
Very simple and easy to use. I applied 1 coat of this to my dark brown mirror frame after I coated it 2 times with Rust-oleum Chalked ultra matte paint in linen white. (Highly recommended) I also purchased the brush that was recommended with that purchase. And used that same brush with the sealing wax. This clear sealing wax is thick and milky, but dries completely clear and matte! Good thing it’s thick so it doesn’t drip all over the place. The smell is not overly powerful. As I just painted it in my dining room. At first I coated it thick, but then used less of it as I worked on the frame.Less is better!!!!It dries to a matte finish and doesn’t turn yellow like some other brands I read about.I am happy with the end results! This was my first time chalking and distressing anything and it was super easy.I would chalk the piece first, distressed, and paint on the sealing wax.

Great Product
I loved using this product! I wanted to create an old world looking table, out of what was originally a black laminate table top. I used this over a beige paint coat and primer, and used a cheap chip brush to apply it and a paper towel to wipe off excess in areas I wanted to have more of a worn look. I sealed it with a water based polyurethane. We’ve been using this table for 2 months now and it’s held up great and I get so many compliments thinking it was real wood!

We Use This For EVERY Project.
My husband and I are a professional DIY duo. When we built our fireplace and built-ins, I had a very specific look in mind for the mantle and the shelves. I have worked with wood stain several times in the past and the process is messy and takes way too long, especially when you have many other projects in the works like we do. I discovered a hack that completely transformed the way we do wood finishes. I even used this to turn my friend’s black metal door into a wood looking door (see pictures).First, sand down the wood or whatever material you are using. Next, paint a light coat of Behr’s “Burnished Clay” matte/flat paint all over the surface (brush strokes will resemble wood grain, so be mindful of how you paint it on). Once dried, go in with this wax using a fiber-cloth towel for a light natural wood finish (if you want a rich, darker finish, use a small regular dish towel). And then finish with polyurethane. The entire process from start to finish is less than 2 hours. SOOO much faster, better, and less messy than using stain.Trust me. You will thank me later.**ALWAYS wear rubber gloves when using this product. If you don’t, your hands will be stained for weeks.

More Navy Than Ultramarine
It is slightly more matte than Montana Black Serrento Blue but is miles away from being an Ultramarine color. Good coverage, good paint, just not the specific color I need.

Perfect for a beginner
I painted some old black frames with a light beige color first and then used this on top to give the frames a light "wood" color. I wasn't going for an antique look so I was nervous but I think it turned out perfectly. It's also very forgiving for a beginner. I brushed it on lightly with a cheap wire paint brush and wiped it off quickly with a lint free cloth. Work it in sections so it doesn't dry too quickly. This is 2 coats and it gives the perfect drift wood tone.
