Lightspeed Outdoors Sun Shelter, Beach Tent, Deep Tropics

There are so many beach tents to choose from it can be overwhelming. We’ve owned this Lightspeed shelter for a few years now so I can’t remember exactly why I chose this one but I’m so glad I did.Set up and tear down is very easy. Other brands try to badmouth the pull string method but I’ve never had any issues with it.The front overhang is nice and is farther than others providing decent shade all day long.The stakes work surprisingly well. We’ve never had to fill the sand pockets.The floor does hook to the front overhang to create some privacy for changing.There’s mesh pockets overhead that we use to put our Bluetooth speaker in or there’s little hooks as well.I just bought a whitefang during a Lightning Deal as a backup for friends visiting us here in Florida. The whitefang was a little cheaper but the build quality is terrible. I don’t see it lasting more than a few seasons. The material is definitely thinner than the Lightspeed. I should have just bought another Lightspeed. They have a few different models but I would get this one again hands down. Florida weather being predictably unpredictable, this has been rained on and held up to pre-storm winds of about 20-30MPH with no issues. The whitefang did not. I will review the whitefang separately and it will not be positive. When the price drops to sixty or less, you will be getting a bargain. I believe I bought it for around eighty which is a little pricey but comparatively, it was worth it. Hopefully they keep making this model. I might buy another just in case they stop making it.Some tips if you’re new to using a popup shelter on the beach:Dig a hole with your hand before placing each stake. This gets the stake into denser sand. Then cover the stake with sand.Always angle the stake tips inward, towards the shelter. This provides more resistance so the wind doesn't just pull them right out of the sand.Do not face the opening directly into the wind, if possible. We still face the ocean, obviously, but we try to get the opening facing as much on an angle to the wind as possible.We typically take an old sheet and lay that down so it collects any sand and you can shake it out at the end of the day. Keeps sand out of the shelter.Bring a little jug with a squirt top so you can wash the sand off your feet after swimming, before getting into the shelter. Just fill with ocean water when you get to the beach. Also helpful for when you get to your vehicle. You can wash all the sand off your feet before putting your shoes on.

I have now bought 2 of these. I got one for me last year in a different model and bought this one for my daughter for mother’s day so she has one to use with my grandsons. I love this beach tent. It pops up so easy and collapse's fast also. Super light weight. I use mine for the Airshows we go to so we can get out of the sun when needed. Works great for all types of activities besides the beach. Highly recommend.

This thing is a marvel of engineering. 1 person can set it up easily!!! And the fun color/pattern helps you find it among all the boring shade tents! Win-Win!

Easy to fold but large bag for transport and not the lightest on the market. Overall a 4 stars as it is made in very resistant material and has a lot of unique style to offer

The easiest sun shelter you can find to fold up! It’s light and easy to carry. It can be challenging to set up if it’s windy place. Mine was blew away the first time I set up. But it didn’t break when it tumbled, its very sturdy.The size is great, and love the privacy feature of this sun shelter. Also, the pattern is beautiful.

So I did a lot of research, probably watched all the YouTube videos of mountain and beach tents, messaged a bunch of you-tubers etcI wanted something easy to carry to beach and easy to assemble.I can confirm that this is the best sun shade out there.It is designed and created by a local company in San Diego and the love of beach shows... They have thought about every possible thing.This is well ventilated, well protected, well secured, easy to setup and take out tent..The care and love put into the design shows when you use the shade....Do yourself a favor and buy something designed by American Company that lives the beach culture in their daily life..

This is our second Lightspeed tent. The first one served well but fabric ripped after numerous uses. This tent is simple to set up and take down. It does well in the wind since it has multiple anchor points. The second tent is an improvement over the original in that it has more zippable vents to give max airflow. It’s a great option if you have a couple of people or a great place to put babies for naps at the beach. I definitely recommend it!

This sunshade is excellent! I’m only 5’4” and can set it up all by myself!It’s great because it has all around view and you can seal up each window individually to made shade or block wind. It’s tall enough so you can comfortably sit in it. No crouching needed! It was a snap to pack up as well! Five stars all around!
