Pitman's Shorthand Dictionary (Classic Reprint)

i liked that i could view words in shorthand. the format of the book was a little bit complicated.

THIS MUST BE A DIFFERENT VERSION TO THE ONE I HAD IN THE '60s. MINE WAS MUCH SMALLER BUT UNFORTUNATELY I LEFT IT BEHIND WHEN I MOVED TO SPAIN. I AM GLAD I BOUGHT THIS THOUGH & I LIKE IT. I AM SURE IT WILL COME INTO PLAY NOW THAT MY SPELLING HAS DETERIRATED THRU LACK OF USE!

The printing of this book was woeful, at least in my copy. The whole point of Pitman's shorthand is being able to distinguish between light and dark strokes which was impossible in this book. Also the outlines didn't line up with the words they represented so it proved useless on about every level.Don't waste your money.

I like nothing about it. Not helpful at all.

My mum was a professional shorthand typist when we were young we’d often find notebook pads with what looked like gobbledegook written on them .She recently moved and gave away her original shorthand dictionary then she couldn’t remember some of the words she knew. This updated dictionary is super. Highly recommended by a retired professional.
