If you’re looking for a well priced Kalimba complete with accessories- this is a solid option! The high E at the very end- right side- has a weak and tinny tone, kind of in the way the top keys in a piano sound, but every other note has a pleasant sound! I’ve read some blogs that mentioned the top key sometimes even improves in tone after a few weeks of playing, so fingers crossed on that! The craftsman is good- this is a beautiful instrument. The wood has a matte finish- so you won’t have to worry about it being slippery. One thing that was really tricky- tuning! In the box, they recommend an app that didn’t work out great for me- try the free PanoTuner app instead! It was much easier to use than insTuner- in my opinion. Also- they mention that it takes around an hour to tune, but it took me more like 2 hours! Once I got the hang of it, it increasingly took less time to tune though. Also- when using the included hammer tool for tuning- I recommend using the back end to hammer with- it’ll be easier to lightly hit the tines accurately using that end than the front. To “tune up” hit the tine from the bottom and to “tune down” hit the tine from the top. :)

What a beauty! Very fine craftmanship here.A joy to play. Though it needs to be tuned to truly get great sound out of it.Everything you need is provided. And comes with a great carrying case that fits everything into one case. Comfortable to play, the tines are curved for extra comfort when playing. I recommend growing your thumb nails, for even more ease of play and better sound.The kalimba keys are not painted.. they however supply you with stickers/decals which is kind of nice so you can decide which to color. I just use black marker so I can change them very easily if desired. It came in a nice case with all the tools you need to tune or adjust it if needed. Mine did come a little out of tune on some of the keys but I was able to tune it pretty easily. Also came with a cute little panda keychain which was a nice touch.Seems easy enough to pick up and learn a few basics.

Came a lovely travel case with everything needed to start playing, including a nifty songbook to get you going. Love the presentation and will be a nice pairing with my ukulele. Also feels like a nice gift idea. Highly recommend!

I bought this as a Christmas gift but played around with it. Very cool instrument and fun to play. The songbook was confusing but I had bought a separate songbook that worked very well with it.

The sound is really nice, clear and like a wind chime almost. It's hard to describe. The higher pitch keys are a bit harder to play loudly because they're quite stiff and short. The lower notes resonate deeply and just sound so beautiful. I got it for my brother's birthday, but I personally love fiddling around on it.

I've had it out of the box for a little over an hour . . . the instruction book is poorly translated (prolly from Chinese) and largely not helpful, but I have been playing music since I was 11, so . . . the outer keys were out of tune but were easy to shift and tune up.I am playing simple tunes already, have already started working out a few simple cords and minor melodies and have started on the song book included with the Kalimba.Very nice!

It's just for fun, not not sure if a musician would find it good enough, but the tone is very good. Very sturdy case and a fabric bag as well.
