Cell finally makes his entrance
This is the start of one of the best dbz arcs, the cell saga. This includes the discovery of the time machine and the beginning of the cell vs imperfect cell fight. Cell is one of the best dbz villains and his introduction is so memorable. Plus Piccolo and Kami merge to become a stronger fighter. 5 stars, such a great way to start the cell saga off right.

Cell is Everyone
The vicious Cell attacks Piccolo by sucking away his energy. The military interveins but to no sucess. Piccolo manages to escape with his arm lifeless. Before Cell moves in for the kill, Cell reveals that he is composed of cells from all the Z fighters. When Cell finishes his story, Piccolo regenerates his arm. Cell, however, manages to escape by using Solar Flare. Cell is off to collect human energy and to find Android 18 and 17 to become complete. This volume explains the whole deal with Cell which makes it an important volume. The dub for Cell is done pretty well. And the story is very intriquing. Make sure you see this one.

Piccolo, The Super Namek
In This DVD feature, Cell, an android from the future, and Piccolo, the mighty Super Namek, meet up for the first time. With Piccolo fused with Kami, it gave him both strength and wisdom. But what's this? Cell using the Kamehameha Wave? How did that happen? You see, Cell Was created into a single entity from the cells of the most powerful fighters in the universe like Nappa, Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta, Frieza and others. With Piccolo back in action, Krillin and Trunks show up to help out, but Cell escapes by using the Solar Flare technique and that's when everyone shows up and Piccolo lets them in on what Cell is about and what he's about to accomplish. Meanwhile, Krillin and Trunks go to Dr. Gero's laboratory and destroyed it. Gohan trains to get stronger than his dad while Goku is still recovering from the heart virus. Can cell be stopped? The Cell saga begins here!
FUNimation's DVDs keep getting a little better every time. There are still a few noticeable pauses between some tracks, like between the theme song and the recap, and between the title sequence and the beginning of the episode. And still, no preview of the next episode in Japanese, either. But, they've included the original eyecatches, so there are signs of improvement. Also, the animated menus look NICE this time around. Unlike the cruddy screen captures from the Freeza discs, the Cell menus feature a cool-looking techno-organic cell floating around in green embryonic fluid.Only three episodes on the disc, but that's no surprise. The Powers That Be have already long since decided that we stupid consumers are to digest this 300-episode series in installments of 3 episodes per ... disc. The first two episodes on the disc really aren't more than a buildup that goes on a little too long. Nothing much here except setting up Cell's appearance and Piccolo's power-up. The third episode is the real meat and potatoes of the disc, with Piccolo and Cell going at it. From the horrific images of Cell killing his victims to Piccolo's superpowered martial arts prowess, this episode is one to remember out of the entire DBZ series.

Pretty Good
The animation could be better but the over-the-top fight scenes, that are a trademark of this series, make this tape a worthwhile diversion.
