I bought this as a gift for my father, but I unfortunately could not give this gift as the whole box smelt of petrol. All of the contents of the box had such a strong smell. On closer inspection I think the shears had been covered in oil, but it was totally ungiftable. Really dissatisfied and disappointed. Had to send it back.

Would not recommend, had to bin half of the accessories right after opening the box due to the strong petrol smell. Barely any seeds per packet, overall a huge disappointment. Be cautious prior to ordering.

This is a lovely variety of starter bonsai seeds with most tools that you'll need to grow them, but one thing to be aware of - when they go into the plastic bags, the instructions recommend a small hole. We found that this provided insufficient aeration, and many of the pots developed mould spores. We opened a hole of approximately 1 - 1.5 inches in the bag. Hopefully this saved most of the seeds, as the majority have germinated.You will also need to make sure you have pots for them to go into, as the pots provided will biodegrade during the germination process.

All the instructions are very clear and there is a generous number of seeds. But. The instructions include a need to put the potted seeds into a refrigerator for 6 weeks. I'm fortunate I have an old fridge I can use for this purpose but if you haven't it seems you will be missing out an important step in the propagation process

I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 because I followed every instructions in the leaflet attached yet I had an issue I want to share with everyone. One of the steps is to place the planted seeds into a plastic bag and cut holes on the bags for aeration. Which I did. Yet within 2 weeks every bag got mouldy throughout to a level where I had to remove everything, discard the soil and clean the seeds, then replant everything (I used an egg tray). Another 3 weeks passed now and thanks god some seeds started to sprout. I was worried that the mould had killed most of them. I guess I saved them on time. I don't know where I went wrong, maybe the soil was too moist. Apart from that it seems a great product, I recommend it. I'm having fun experimenting! Also be very careful with the cutters coz they're very sharp!

Brought 3 or 4 of these as Christmas presents- I kept one for myselfI must be novice I thought I would be buying little mini bonsai trees 🌲 lol 😂- silly 🙃 me;I brought1 for my second mum (best friends mum)1 for my best friends mother in law1 for my niece1 for me ???Did I buy 3 or 4 ?Anyway - I’m really competitive- so any tips on how to grow the best bonsai is much appreciated- as we are all in lockdown and can’t see eachother I thought it would be a nice idea and gift to have our own little bonsais - QUESTION 🙋‍♀️ HOW long do they take to grow ?? X

Extremely disappointed followed the instructions exactly as stated and not a single one has grown ordered this 2 months ago now extremely unhappy. The information in the kit was very basic and upon further research have found that the information will not help to grow and keep a bonsai thriving.
