10 year girl loved it
This was a gift for the granddaughter of one of my cousins. She is involved in theater and I had previous given her the 1st book of this series. She enjoyed it. When visiting the area they lived in more recently I gave, this, the second in the series.

A Children's Book for Everyone!
I purchased this book as a gift. I was expecting a "picture book" and was surprised it was actually all prose. I started to read it out of curiosity and---I couldn't put it down until I finished it. It's a funny and touching story about a mouse and her family that live in the Shubert Theatre on Broadway who longs to perform on stage. It's a great story and suitable for any age. The story actually gets quite exciting but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who intends to purchase it. A great Christmas gift for any boy or girl on your list who has any interest in theatre and the arts. As I was reading it I came to the conclusion it would make a great animated movie!Pixar-are you out there!!

Was hoping that my kid would like this story...
Pros: This story is full of vocabulary that your typical 8 to 11 year old (especially a male 7 to 11 year old) would have likely not come across in other books. I give this book an A+ for introducing new vocabulary.Cons: This book might be best suited for girls or kids actively involved in theater and not just local theater but theater in the big cities: New York, L.A. Chicago, etc. Because of the good reviews I thought this might be a good book for my male third grader, however he became quickly disinterested. I think as a Mom with theater experience I enjoyed the book more than him.The book really will be a win for a very particular audience. I appreciate the author for writing a book for the theater audience. I just wish it also appealed to a broader audience as well. The other thing is that I’m not exactly sure if this is meant to be read by third graders or if it is intended for an older audience, maybe that was the problem.

Another Wonderful Book from a Fantastic Writer
The Show Must Go On is the sequel to Gavigan's first book, Lulu, the Broadway Mouse. It is an affectionate and instructional story set in a real Broadway theatre with real Broadway theatre people.Like the first book, the further adventures of Lulu offer insights and guidance to some of the thorniest of issues that kids face today deftly folded into a wonderfully entertaining story of a young mouse simply following her dreams.I cannot recommend this book enough for kids and for those old enough to know better. It is a lovely book.

Smart, funny, sweet, adorable, LULU! I love her and I loved the book! 🎭 🐭
Set backstage at the Shubert Theatre on Broadway, Jenna Gavigan's debut novel "LULU the Broadway Mouse" is a delightful book for middle graders who love Broadway, theatre, musicals and well, talking mice! For any young aspiring actor or actress - this book is for you. While written for a younger audience, adults will get a kick out of it too, especially Broadway veterans. Smart and funny with inside references for theatre fans in the know. I laughed a lot and it's full of heart. It's a chapter book not a picture book so one must use their imagination. Perfect for an animated feature or TV series. Perfect for Christmas or birthday gift. Can't wait to read the sequel! Love you LULU!

It's a Hit!
I purchased this as a gift for my theatre-loving daughter, who is ten. While she loves books and reading, she doesn't often devour books in long stretches the way I did as a kid... but that changed with "Lulu." She read the whole thing in less than two days, and then suggested that we read it out loud together (which I eagerly agreed to.) I'm so thrilled that I made this purchase, and we can't wait to see what Lulu does next!

LULU: Bright, witty and full of valuable theatre information! Charming!
I've just finished reading Jenna's adorable book and loved every delightful moment!I could hear her voice, feel her enthusiasm, her joie de vivre for life and the theatre! And I delighted in learning of several theatre terms as well as positions and job requirements of backstage employees.I found it to be truly educational regarding theatre, as well as lighthearted, yet emotional. Her book has HEART!Simply wonderful!

Fun read, ignore the fact it's junior fiction.
Found this book through a relative, add the fact that I love trying new authors, why not try it.Thoroughly enjoyed the read, learned a little about back stage at the theatre.Laughed at the antics and the ending was perfect.Ignore the fact that it for junior readers and just enjoy it.Now, I want to know what LuLu's brothers get up to back stage........
