The minis themselves are nicely sculpted, with a high level of detail.But I would not consider them "ready to paint" as advertised.First, the minis have a *really* thick layer of primer that clumps up and obscures most of the fine details. The dragon scales, for example, are completely gone on the minis' fingers. I stripped the minis of primer and tons of details came out that were invisible before.Second, the minis have a lot of really unsightly mold lines and other casting imperfections, some of them running right across prominent features (like down the neck or across the cheek). These can be removed with some work, but doing so also takes some of the primer off. And in some places, the original clumpy primer actually accentuated the flaws.Overall, I like them, but I would have preferred the minis either cleaned up before priming, or just left unprimed so that I could clean up and prime, instead of having to start by stripping them.
