by Marjorie's husband: Tried these this year in Alaska. Could not tell if they work - no moose came. The smoke does adhere to much of what it touches and be prepared for a somewhat barnyard odor - our tents included. I wish the sticks were packaged in 2'as or individually as once you open the package the odor comes out. Was concerned if these attracted bears but both nights we burned them, no bear issues - no guarantees tho - brown bears tend to investigate animal smells - be careful. I left the last 2 sticks unburned in front of a trail camera - still could smell at 20+ feet. We'll see if they attract anything. Oh and in light breezes, they don't last 2 hrs - some shelter is a good idea. I plant to buy more and try again at the price they are worth experimenting with.

There are two moose encounters and in the second clip he walks straight into the smoke cloud and then circles in to get a better sniff of it. I didn't have a bull tag, but it was a fantastic experience to get this close (less than 10 yards) to such big, beautiful animals. This was archery season and you've got to get them in close. I've continued to purchase these and have had similar success using them along with bull calls and grunts.

I set about half of these off on various days of my hunt while I was calling. Never had a bull come into one, and when I did get a bull to come in it was on a day I didn't use one. (Had I lit one up that day, I'd probably swear by them) I'm sure in certain situations it would help, but it didn't help me on my particular hunt.

Only negative is they could last a bit longer. Need a pail to make them last longer than 1.5 hours…..T

I found these did not smoking and needed to be lit after 5 minutes even when covered as per instructions. I have used other brands in the past and have never had the same issue.
