LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!
There’s nothing to not to love about this magnifying lamp. The base is heavy so no risk for tipping over. The base is smaller than other brands and will tuck under chairs and low sofas unlike the large span roller base models. The glass is crystal clear. The adjustments are easy even for someone with arthritis. I use this lamp for so much more than sewing!! Highly recommend this model! You will not be disappointed

Very sturdy light
Although this magnifier lamp seemed a little expensive I have to say it is worth every penny. The support uses internal springs to support the lens and light instead of the cheap tightening knobs at each joint like the cheaplights use which never work great and wear out quickly. Have only had a few weeks but I believe the support systemwill last quite a while. The lens is plastic so be careful cleaning (I keep a micro fiber cleaning cloth for that.) and doesa great job and the small high magnification lens has been done perfectly so I can work on a circuit board using mainlens and then to read ID numbers I just move the part under the 10X lens. I am 73 so eyes getting weak and this really helps. I had not noticed in description that this light is dimable but indeed when first turned on it is at full and each additonal press lowers intensity in about five steps. I do not use as I want all the light I can get and the Led light bars around lens are very bright. The only reason I gave this light 4 stars is that if you wish to turn or tiltthe light/magnifier the mount seems to have notches or steps you can feel and because of this I find I usually have to slightly loosen the tightening knob to tilt the lamp up or down. In other words it is not a friction typemount so if you really need to tilt lens assembly up or down it is really easier to just push or pull the whole thing. Has not really been a major problem for me and I am thinking about buying a second one for my other work area.

Probably the best at this price point, but leaves a lot to be desired
I wanted a magnifying light for projects and repairs. I chose this one because it had the largest lens. This unit is ok with some caveats.1) the light head is extremely difficult to adjust. You have to loosen/tighten the friction knob to move the light to the position you want and then lock it in place. The whole head will just flop down if you loosen it too much, possibly flopping into your workpiece. The articulating are seems good and holds position well. No complaints.2) I wanted an LED light because halogen is hot and I don’t like the flicker I’ve seen with fluorescent. The brightness of this unit is ok, but I wish it were brighter. You click the on switch and the unit comes on full brightness. Click it again and it dims a bit. I think there are 4 brightness levels before it goes off. The adjustment is kind of useless. I’d prefer straight on off.3) the big lens is acrylic plastic. This means it’s lightweight, scratches easily and has chromatic aberration (colored edges on things when you look thru the lens). I knew this when I bought the lamp, so I’m not disappointed by it. It’s a decent cost/weight trade off. It definitely does the magnifying job well and I’m satisfied. All in all I think I like this. It’s a bit clumsy to adjust and not as bright as i might like. But it doesn’t cost $400 either. I have it up in my office work table. I may buy another one for the garage after I’ve used this one for a while.I recommend this light even with the couple of bugs I mentioned.

Excellent magnifier with a bright, clear task lamp. Best magnifying lamp I've ever used.
I have a lot of hobbies which involve working with very small parts. On top of that, my eyes just aren't as sharp as they once were. So, I'm constantly looking for devices which make these small tasks easier. I've tried a number of magnifying desk lamps over the years, and I'm usually disappointed by their real-world performance. So, I just muddled along with most of these sub-par lamps because they were slightly better than nothing and I couldn't find a better one. I'm happy to say, this one is different. This is the best magnifying desk lamp I've ever used.Too often, the lens on a desktop magnifying lamp is so small that it forces you to keep moving your head around in order to see the entire section of the workpiece you're working on. If that weren't annoying enough, the amount of light these lamps shed is more dungeon-like than helpful. I've used other lamps which claimed to have over 1,000 lumens of light output, only to discover that the actual output was probably half that. Unlike the others I've tried, this lamp puts out a ton of light. For once, I actually believe the 1600 lumen output rating. When you switch this lamp to its highest output level, the amount of light which is cast on your workspace is pretty stunning. The magnifying portion of this lamp is equally impressive. While there is obviously still going to be distortion near the edges of any lens that magnifies this much, the sweet spot on this lens is much larger than others. In daily use, I find that I'm not moving my head around nearly as much. This is one case where bigger is definitely better. The reduced effort involved in working on tiny tasks is easily noticeable. The eyestrain is reduced, too. I can actually work on tasks longer than I could before. The lamp is also very well made, highly adjustable, quite stable, and has a very long reach. The build quality is excellent and I expect this lamp to last a very long time. So, if you are looking for a bright desk lamp which makes every tiny task easier, look no further. This lamp is the one you want. I highly recommend it.

Helps m keep Knitting
I use this with the sold-separately base so I have a lamp/magnifying glass to use with knitting. It is great. The one thing I don’t like is that I’m not able to tighten the base pole in the wheels so the pole stands upright. It just leans wobbly toward my chair. I like the weight and heft of the wheel base. I just hope it hangs on to that pole and light and magnifying glass.

Very good!
Works well. Lense is very clear, no distorsions. Light is sufficient, just right. Brightness setting is memorised, just press button twice to put off. It stays put where you left it and the angle of the lense is kept when you move it up and down. Very pleased with my purchase. Better than the one I have at work.

massive 7" lens + LED lighting = great workbench companion
it's a bit pricey ($ 206 total) but I got tired of my dollar store mickey mouse magnifying glass so I swallowed the price of this one - and it was worth it. This bench top magnifiying glass dominates a viewing area 7 inches in diameter; AND has a 3 step brightness level LED light which illuminates the work area perfectly - this is perfect for electronic prototyping ( I do Arduino/Elegoo projects) and this helps a lot. It was worth it.
