Not as expected
I agree with a previous reviewer that the layout is confusing, with pictures at either end of the book and the instructions in the middle. Also I purchased this book because another reviewer said all it needed was a jelly roll, not any other extra fabric but the very first project suggests you "purchase one yard of dark blue marbled fabric for horizontal stripes and inner border". There is of course the more obvious need to purchase extra material for wadding, backing and binding but I thought the quilt tops were just about jelly rolls. Somehow, naively, I thought I would need only one jelly roll but most of these quilts need two! That makes it a very expensive quilt top unless you can scale down and make tiny ones out of one jelly roll, somehow. I'm a bit disappointed and not sure I will be able to make any of these. However, there is a sampler quilt here which gives a series of different blocks and could be made with six blocks instead of twelve. It comes with a rather nice sampler pillow, too.
