Wicked as Sin (One-Mile & Brea, Part One) (Wicked Lovers: Soldiers For Hire Book 1)

Such an intense, detailed story with awesome characters. Storyline was jam packed with exciting twists. plot was detailed. Main characters were well written. Best book ever!!!!!

This book was actioned back. I felt like I was watching a TV show. I had to put it down and take time away for a bit to get ready for the next episode lol. It was wonderfully written too and kept me begging for more. I'm ready to dive into the next one.

This is a good story between a sweet woman, Brea, and the larger than life man she's attracted to, One-Mile. They have an instant connection, but the preacher's daughter isn't sure she should be with him. An unlikely couple-a sniper and a hairdresser. Her mind is at odds with her heart and body. I'd definitely recommend. 👍

As always Shayla Black gives us a book that give's us so much action, emotion, and passion. Her storytelling in "Wicked As Sin", has so much going on. Making One-Mile and Brea into two unique passionate people.Brea's sweet, innocent, and loving nature does a number on the hardened One-Mile. He doesn't know what hit him. I love the heat and chemistry between these two characters you can feel steam. They are total opposites but fire between them is so intense. There are some huge obstacles to clear and it won't be easy. We know both of their futures are about to change in big ways.There's a wonderful cast of secondary characters who are fascinating, along with some cameo appearances from well-loved previous books. This is a wickedly wonderful book that I couldn't put down. I can't wait for the next book to see how this plays out.

FINAL DECISION: Loved this story. One-Mile ended up being much more of a marshmallow than I expected about Brea. The story felt really classic and was eminently enjoyable because of that. My only negative is that the book is only part 1 and I've been burned by these split stories before. But I can't wait to read the conclusion.THE STORY: Brea Bell is warned to stay away from Pierce Walker (aka One-Mile). But the attraction between the virginal preacher's daughter and the dangerous sniper is hot and immediate. When Brea ends up coming to One-Mile for help, things explode with far reaching consequences.OPINION: This was a story that I was highly anticipated. I really loved this couple together. The story was hot and yet there was a definite sweetness between this couple that I didn't expect. I got immediately engrossed in this book and read it quickly in one sitting.Brea and Pierce are adorable. He's an alpha who can't imagine his feelings for the Brea and yet can't stay away from her. Brea is a woman of values but she doesn't judge or shame other people. I really liked that about her. I also liked that she recognizes her own faults. The heat and the passion between these two was obvious and I thought their connection worked really well.The only negative for me is the cliffhanger. I wasn't angry or annoyed because it is clear from the cover of the book that this is a part 1 of the story. I think my trepidation is because I have over the recent years read some really fantastic beginnings of stories that I was deeply disappointed in the ending. None of those books were by Shayla Black, but I'm still wary. I hope that I will be pleasantly surprised in the end.WORTH MENTIONING: This book is NOT the complete story of this couple. It is part one. There is a part two that will be the conclusion.CONNECTED BOOKS: WICKED AS SIN is the first book in the Wicked & Devoted series. The Wicked & Devoted series is a spin-off of the Wicked Lovers series and the Devoted Lovers series. It is not necessary to have read any book in the prior series to read this one. I feel for Brea in her situation. It is difficult when the person you are involved with has no clue of your situation and cannot relate. Loved these star crossed lovers.

I've got a lot of mixed feelings about this one, but definitely want to hold onto them until I get the chance to read book 2.Can't really say I was a fan of Brea, but know that a big part of it is because of her upbringing. When it came to her and the lack of clearing things up with her best friend, Cutter, especially on the topic of Pierce, that bothered me a ton. Definitely a big accusation going on that should never be taken lightly.Once we push towards the end, I guessed what direction Brea and Pierce's relationship would be going. I feel like we'll have a ton of drama ahead of us, but also a ton of action because of Pierce's job.Narration: I read this in audio and ebook format, I didn't mind the narrator except for when they did Brea's POV. It wasn't quite working for me.Overall, not too bad of a read, not what I usually gravitate towards, but am interested to see how their story wraps up.

What a beast of a man One-Mile is and wouldn't I love him all for myself. Thoroughly enjoyed this book, loved the characters. Brea is lovely but a little naive could do with having a female friend to wise her up! Great page turner I was gagging to get back to this book when I had things to do. Obviously now I have finished it I've got to go get the next one as this one ends on a cliffhanger!! Great book, loved it 😍😍

I loved this story.It's the story of Brea, and One-Mile, who is told to keep away from an innocent young lady. So we all know what that means...One-Mile pursues her quietly, when no one sees. And he's there for her - and slowly, slowly, they fall for one another. But "friends" stand in their way...until he vanishes and that's when things REALLY heat up!I can't wait to get my hands on Book 2 now, Wicked Ever After...

Like the main guy, girl I just thought how old are you. Her friend omg his has issues. The dad judges but is not perfect either. It end making me want more.

I usually love Ms Black's work, but in this case it's made me mad. If you like reading about a poor, silly girly, who is unable to communicate, is weak and delicate, worries about other's opinions and is happy to deceive the person who is is love/ lust with her, then this book is for you. Since I prefer to read about people who are strong, face life and is truthful, I felt like shaking her a little. And what does that man see in her? I did not like reading this. It's the first time I give Shayla Black less than 4 or 5 stars.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel - the characters were well thought through and the plot developed nicely from beginning to end! Sometimes Bree's character seems a little unrealistic but that is probably because if you haven't had dealings with an altruistic person ( I haven't) it becomes hard to imagine!I will say that I'm quite sad that I won't be able to read the conclusion to their story as it's not covered by my kindle subscription and being a pensioner I can only just afford that!But even saying that I would recommend this book!
