First of all this is probably the sharpest knife right out of the box that I’ve ever bought. Second I will agree that like some of the other reviews have said the sheath is a little cheap, but after strapping it on my belt for awhile it seems adequate and should last quite awhile. The knife isn’t huge, but for the price its a bargain, and fits very nice in my hand. I’ve paid more for knives that I would say aren’t as nice as this one. I can’t wait to try it out on a hunting trip. Really happy with this purchase and I will be getting more Helle knives in the future!

I am a custom walking stick maker and I started whittling with Morakniv products which I absolutely love. But when I got this I was truly blown away at its simplicity and elegance. But what I'm more happy about is that I'm scared to use it bc it is actually that sharp. Lol I tested it twice. Both tests were on a four inch circumference and 1 1/2 inch branches of maple. Each test I whittled through the middle of the stick till it snapped from merely cutting. Each test was just under a minute!!! That's crazy sharp baby!!!

I saw this same knife recently in a major knife catalog for almost $70.00, over $75.00 with shipping. I'm glad I had already ordered it from here. Delivery took only a few days. It arrived scary sharp and the edge has held up amazingly well to the wood carving I have been doing with it. The leather sheath isn't the most impressive but is adequate and at this price there is no room to complain. The overall size of the knife is on the small side with a small handle so someone with big meaty hands might find it a little difficult to use, but aside from that it is a great little general utility knife that I am very pleased with and I expect to get many years of service out of it.Update: When i wrote this review it was based on the $44.00 price I got it for in January. I didn't know at the time that the price here had been jacked up as much as it has. It is now the same as the catalog price, but with free shipping it is still a slightly better bargain here.

You won't find me batoning wood with this blade or chopping branches, but it'll skin fish, cut vegetables and fruits like a filet or paring knife and whittle and feather stick amazingly well! I'm keeping it and giving it to my daughter when she's a bit older and hopefully it'll become a family heirloom.

This knife is the perfect size if you want to use it for cutting vegies or wittling. It feels good in your hand, the ergonomic design helps to not slip into the blade. I really like this little knife!

crazy sharp. sheath isn't leather anymore but still a great buy. bought one of these 20 years ago in Norway. has held up really well. holds a great edge and comfortable to use.

Nice sharp blade attached to a very poor loose handle, that was not completely finished. Had to scrap glue off in two areas.
