Fresh Turmeric Root (750g)

This turmeric root is value for money compared to stores or supermarkets I have used. The roots are big so are much easier to peel than smaller roots. The smaller roots I usually buy do seem to be a richer orange...are more waxy and may have a slightly stronger taste than these big roots...but these are super fresh and I'm sure have the same nutritional value. I peel the whole pack...grate them in a food processor and partially freeze spread out on a tray...then transfer to a container to keep in the freezer and use when needed. Be prepared for orange hands for a day or so after peeling!...😆...Great to have readily available to use in cooking and for my morning drink of grated fresh turmeric and ginger...tblspn organic apple cider vinegar...a grinding of black pepper and a big tspn of honey all steeped in hot water and strained through a sieve. Nature's anti inflammatory...😋...An update...I continue to use this seller for my turmeric. The quality is consistent and my recent order couldn't be any fresher...🙂...

The shop where I normally buy Turmeric (whose branding is the same colour as the product) only stocks it in stores quite some distance from me; and I've trekked there before to find the shelf empty! Most of the reviews seemed favourable, so given that the price is virtually identical to when the aforementioned shop (when on offer using it's purple rewards card) was the same, I thought I'd take a punt...The Turmeric that arrived 3 days later was surprising in two respects... A. The size of the bulbs were far, far bigger than the ones I usually buy (in their 100gm bag)! B. It was instantly obvious that they were fresher! So much so, I felt that this company had picked them within the last few hours and hand delivered them to me!(The second picture is one of the trays stacked with grated pieces ready to freeze, for use in my smoothies. (I have a lethal weapon of a tool that is my Cypriot Grater, that is perfect for this job.))

I don't normally write reviews, but having seen some negative ones, I really wanted to set the record straight. It is now December 2022, and the quality is excellent. The tubers are some of the biggest I've ever seen, very firm and fresh, and with no trace of mould whatsoever. The weight is also very good - 748g once removed from the bag. I singled out the smallest and weighed them (2nd photo attached), so you can see they're not particularly small anyway, and weigh just 122g (so 16% of the total). Overall, the item was very well packaged, using only paper and cardboard to protect from bruising and prevent build-up of condensation, and the item arrived only 2 days after I ordered it (via standard delivery).

I love this turmeric so much I’ve got it on subscription. The value is incredible compared to how much you can pay in supermarkets. I use it to make turmeric shots and I couldn’t be happier with it.

I DONT NORMALLY WRITE LONG REVIEWS!!To be honest I was amazed, this is probably the best Turmeric I have bought ONLINE, for the quantity, quality and flavour.I washed them on arrival to rid of any dirt etc, dried them naturally, and then wrapped them in kitchen towel, popped them inside freezer bag, then fast freeze.This is the best way to keep the quality, I just take out a tuber when I need, grate off what I want then pop back into freezer, bonus is no nasty stains.I will be rebuying them for sure.The first pic is just after I washed them.
