Earthquake Computer Monitor Anti-Tip Fastening Kit, Grey/Black (Holds up to 50 lbs.)

I don't have earthquakes in my area, but I do have 2 cats and a dog that sometimes can behave like a dognado. I got some nice heavy 34in monitors. The stands are sturdy, but the screen is still quite heavy and one cat jump or intense dog bump could potentially move them. I wanted to protect my purchase and weighed a lot of options. I have an expensive table I place my computers on and didn't want to screw holes into it. This seemed like a great preventative measure.The device is one long sturdy strap made of some sort of plastic and three fasteners. The middle one lets the strap move freely and is only there to keep the strap on the middle of the mount and the side ones have two holes each where you can place the plastic strap down and secure it the way one would a belt (but a bit different).It was quick and easy to put on. The plastic case it comes in is very easy to open - no need for scissors for that and no big struggle, which I liked. Easy installation for someone with a disability that makes putting a lot of force difficult.To install, figure out where you want the strap - which 3 places will you put the secure black plastic? Then use the 2 alcohol wipes to clean these 3 areas to minimize debris and improve the chances these will stick very well. Let the areas fully dry before installing!I peeled the red back off the middle black fastener to expose the sticky back, then placed the middle black fastener on my computer with the openings facing the right and left. I then ran the gray strap in the black fastener now on my mount. I took a look at where I wanted to place the black ends and marked on the gray strap where to put the ends on the strap.Press the middle of one of the end straps to release the middle and slide the moveable middle up so the side with the lines that look like a heart rate monitor can slide up, exposing the 2 raised circles. Put the circles on the gray strap where you want the black end fastener and push it down so it's secure. Once secure run the black middle back down until you hear a snap. Repeat on the other end, then peel the red back off each and secure in the pre-cleaned place you want it. Make sure that it is secured tightly, so put the first one down then when installing the last one pull a bit to make sure you're as far as you can be.Since these are secured to the circles under the end fasteners, you are now free to cut off the excess. I just used a normal pair of scissors and it cut fairly easily. After that wait for some time before testing the security to make sure you give the sticky glue time to set on the surface. I gave it an hour to be safe before testing and my monitor is not going anywhere. Very happy with the result. Cheap. No drills. Fasty installation. Easy to open package. Couldn't get better than that.

This worked perfectly. Now I feel more secure with my 27 inch apple computer sitting on my desk. First one i received was an open package and the securing strap was missing. Returned with a replacement request and received a sealed product. Now I dont have to worry about pets or a bump of the desk, flipping my display into the floor. You need this!

I teach 4th grade. I just put a new monitor in my classroom. I am 100% certain that one of my students is going to manage to hit it or bump into it some how. This solution was easy to apply and seems to have it firmly fastened to the desk. I hope to never test its limits, but so far so good.
