Really fast laptop for a budget model- the 12gig ram, Ryzen's multiple cores and speed + the SSD storage unit really combine to make an amazingly efficient and fast laptop for most tasks in just a second or frames of opening tabs; toppled with a "5 second boot time"(yes, 5 seconds to reach your login screen and be on with your computing). It comes at sacrifice of not being the highest end gaming machine (I've played Ori Definitive & Under Night In Birth- where certain areas/stages drop many frames or lag. Same with CoD World at War where I had to set it to the lowest resolution to run smoothly. It for some reson only runs games fullspeed when its charging though) and having a cheap "zone" membrane keyboard (notably during games that require many inputs, if you hold more than 3 keys in one area, it will not recognize the 4 + inputs from that side of the keyboard onward (left, middle right sides) otherwise really solid for lighter graphical titles and light gaming or emulation in general.Battery life is "Okay", depending on the type of tasks you throw onto it, it can last you 4+ at general minimum or even longer depending on use or settings.Build quality is solid, with a chrome solid and durable looking plastic casing, has 3 usb ports, 1 hdmi port, a dual mic/audio port (4 pin I believe) and micro sd slot. It is missing an ethernet port but for its slim, light frame, its an ok trade off. My only comolaint being that the speakera are located on the "bottom"- front of the device, meaning its an easy spot for muffled sound on most surfacesOverall, happy with this purchase going off an old 6gb ram & intel i3 2500 desktop, major improvement from such and would recommend if you want a budget laptop of good and fast quality to whip out and do mid-intensive tasks in an instant

My laptop arrived way before the estimated dated (even during covid, I received it in a day or two). I contacted customer service with a potential issue and received a response offering to resolve my issue only a few hours after I messaged them . I cannot say enough good things about the customer service. On to the laptop, I have always loved Asus products. The laptop reminds me of a Mac "air" . It is very attractive , very thin, very light. I have a medical condition with my eyes so I prefer a very bright screen (but that's just me). If you want a vivobook fast for a reasonable price this is the place

I bought this laptop looking for something I could draw and animate on. And browse the web/watch YouTube videos. Problem is, it can't handle that. I use Gimp, Krita, Google Chrome, and WordPad. So not very demanding software. The first thing I noticed is that it controls like molasses. I've never used such a bad touchpad before, but it's real bad. It's not responsive, and confuses dragging with clicking. Don't know what's up with that.It was only the kicker.Then came the freeze. What is the freeze you might ask. The freeze is the sound of un-saved documents dying. The freeze is the whir the fans make as you hard reset the thing for the 3rd time that week. The freeze is the scream you emit when you lose all 3 hours of progress on the thing you almost finished. The freeze is the sound of your soul crumbling as you imagine $700 of hard earned cash burning in the embers of your hatred for the snake oil salesman who sold you this trash heap.You'll be using it, then all of a sudden, it will grind to a complete halt. No moving the mouse, no sound, no end tasking your way out of it. Hard reset by holding down the power button is your only way out. And no, it's not because you tried to run Call of Duty, and set all the graphics to the highest they can go. Or installed Maya, 3DS Max, and Skyrim all at the same time. It started for me about 3 months of owning it in. Watching a YouTube video? Freeze. Reading a juicy bridezilla story? Freeze. Opening paint? Freeze. Every now and then, you can even get a blue screen of death because you tried to restart it to install updates. I know it's tempting. You think I'm a one off, just an unlucky customer. "That won't happen to me, they just probably downloaded a virus, or overwhelm it with demanding software". You think. Bad news. I've run my malware scans, my virus checks, my clean ups. I've run them all. It just comes this way.All I ask is that before you buy, just look up: "Asus Vivobook freezing". And then don't do it. Pony up a little more cash for a reliable name brand laptop. Buy a Macbook. Buy a Chromebook. Buy an espresso maker. Buy a kitchenAid. Buy a Nintendo switch and a new Xbox. Buy whatever. I don't care what you spend your $700 on, but don't spend it on this.

This laptop has met all of my expectations so far. I’ve only had it a short time but have no complaints. The ease of setup was really wonderful. It just took a few short minutes and I was up and running. The screen quality and speed are both great. The laptop works perfectly for my normal, everyday use. I also received it a day earlier than the projected delivery date and was really pleased.

Fast enough to handle my grad student coursework, has an excellent battery life and is fairly light and durable. I was pleasantly surprised that it was such an improvement over my lady PC. My only complaint is that the speakers are not the best, but I rarely use it for videos, and I have headphones that work just fine.
