It works
Installed kit with a new capacitor. Unit was pulling 79.2 (starting) and 17.6 (running) amps before installation. 62.0 (starting) and 17.6 (running) after installation. I was hoping to get a little less draw on my starting amps by some of the reviews I have read but 17.2 amps less is nothing to spit at. System is a 17 year old 3.5 ton Bryant 561C model. It does sound better on start up. Installed yesterday so we will see how it holds up.

A must have on all A/C units, new or old.
I put this on my NEW Trane 4 ton condensing unit because it sounded terrible at start up. I really thought the contacter was bad it sounded sooooo bad. It is so much quieter at start up after putting this hard start on, and it starts way faster. I didn't take amp reading before and after, but I know it is pulling way less amps on start up. Great product. Actually I have 2 A/C units and put a hard start kit on both, and both are new.

Well Worth It
My 14 year old Goodman compressor began a cycle of not starting 60% of the time a few weeks ago . Had an HVAC company look at it and tell me it was likely seized. This capacitor got it started and it has continued to run normally ever since. Installation is as simple as it gets, just remember to kill the power and discharge your existing capacitor before touching any terminals.Highly recommended!

This has been the best item I have purchased in a long time. This Hard Start kit worked over the summer heat here in Florida. Year before we were always having to replace capacitors and hit the reset button. Saved us from having to buy a new system for awhile. Still going strong.

hooked in line to my ac compressor for my home unit as it is 7 years oldeasy to install and did the trick helping the ac motor startgreat item if your ac unit is getting a few years on it

Easy Fix
Worked great on my AquaCal pool heat pump,which is only 4years old. Compressor started right up with no hesitation and less start-up noise. Definitely worth the shot if your compressor is cycling on the internal overload,and will not start.
