Work Fantastic, DualBrite is Great !!!
DECISIONI originally ordered 2 of these to test out on my front porch and back patio, they worked so great I ordered 3 more which were new fixtures requiring new power to be run, but it was well worth the labor. One of the 3 other lights was installed on a side yard where our garbage cans are, it was always a pain to go out after dark because the backside of the house had no light. The other 2 were installed on each side of my garage door, replacing a flood light with 2 120w incandescents.I originally bought a light from Home Depot which was supposed to be dusk till dawn, but it never shut off, even during the brightest time of the day. I had all the settings right and it was not in manual mode, but it refused to turn off. The only help the manual gave was that if it doesn't turn off then move it to a location with better light. I did have it on the front porch which is partially covered, but that never stopped my previous light from sensing daylight in the same location. After having these issues with the other light, I found the Heath/Zenith Carriage Light on Amazon, figured I'd give it a try after reading many reviews. It works perfectly in all my locations, even the shaded ones.USE AND FUNCTIONALITYThe price of this light is great, it's was actually $10 cheaper than the other I got prior, but it has DualBrite (which the other didn't have) and looks very similar. I like the slim carriage style as opposed to the bulky carriage style I had with the other one. I currently have the 2 on the front of the garage, 1 on front porch, and 1 on back patio all set to dusk to dawn, 1 minute (bright on), 3 hour (time after dusk), so it dims after 1 minute, and completely turns off after 3 hours of being on at which time it goes into motion only mode. The one on the back of the house is set to 10 minutes and off so that it will stay on for 10 minutes when motion is detected, but off until next motion detection. You can set the ON TIME to Test (5 seconds), 1, 5, or 10 minutes, this is the time the light will be on full brightness, then go into dim light. There is also an off, 3, or 6 hours setting which is the time it will remain on (dimmed till motion detected) in which time it will shut off. There is also a manual mode, if the switch is on in manual mode the light will remain on until it is either turned off, at dawn, or manual mode is overriden by flipping the switch off for a second and back on (note, it resets to auto at dawn).I currently have a 9.5w LED bulb (60w incandescent equivalent) by CREE in all these lights and it's working great with the DualBrite mode. I also tried a CFL, and a normal incandescent which all work great as well.RARE EXPERIENCEOne thing that threw me for a loop was that one of the lights was acting strange, when it went to dim from full bright, it was turning off for like 5 seconds before turning back on in dim mode. I thought I had wired it wrong, so I took it off and verified it was right. Since this one was on a new circuit I wired I thought it might be that, but the next light on the circuit had no issues. Then it dawned on me, the only difference between this light and the others was that this one was installed extremely close to a rain gutter downspout, so I thought the light might be glaring from the shiny gutter and making it seem like it was still daylight, so I placed a piece of cardboard between the light sensor and gutter to block the light from shining back from the gutter and voila, it worked, so I stuck a more permanent piece of half rounded sheet metal covered in electrical tape next to the light sensor on the gutter side. It has not given me a problem since.CONCLUSIONI love this light, it looks great, and the DualBrite is a very great feature to have. I highly recommend these if you like the style and want the functionality I described above. Also, as always, Amazon Prime got these to me within 2 days and in perfect condition.UPDATE: 2013-08-28 - I have uploaded some pictures showing the CREE LED bulb in one, a couple showing the dimmed LED and the LED at Full strength. I was going to upload a short video showing the dimmer in action, but seems Amazon doesn't allow MP4 uploads so I'll have to convert and upload later.

Buy with confidence!
This lamp has everything you could want! First off I love the dualbrite function so I know the light is on while still conserving energy, the sensor rotates right and left so I can aim it where it needs to be and not at the front door and, of coarse, it shuts itself off at day break. The manufacturer specifies an incandescent bulb but I'm using a 60 watt dimmable LED that works great. The light dims approximately 50% or you can set it to shutoff completely. The fixture is very attractive and sturdy and the controls are easy to access. If this lamp is not your taste I highly recommend any Heath Zenith fixture. My only complaint is that I don't have room for more!

Great Customer Service after initial failure
Review of Heath Zenith Motion Light.I have two of these lights outside my front door. They are good looking and function well. I'm writing my review in response to the excellent customer service I received when I had an issue wiht one of the lights. The light on the left side of the door would come on and stay on at full brightness all night. The right side light functioned fine. I did some troubleshooting of my own and all looked fine. I then contacted the company for help. I received a detailed troubleshooting guide. I checked the items and still the light did not work properly. Another email to the company explaining all of the steps I took following their guide and I requested a replacement unit. Technically I was out of warranty by two months, but I explained that I bought the unit and then installed it much later so it had been in a working capacity for much less than the warranty period. Thankfully I bought through Amazon so my receipt was easy to get. The company rep (all of this was through email) said that it was not an issue and sent me replacement. I just put the replacement in last week and so far so good.I was heartened to see a reasonable exchange between customer and vendor and I'm glad that HZ came through with a replacement even when they technically did not have too

Light stopped working before 60 days!
Purchased two of these lights on 5/10/24. One of them stopped working about 2 weeks ago. Appears the sensor that determines day or night failed. Working with HeathZenith (Globe Electric) support has been slow. Still waiting on response from them for replacement after sending receipt and pictures too. Fingers crossed the other light stays working.UPDATE (6/17/24) - Globe Electric did replace the defective light. I guess I didn't cross enough fingers though. While waiting for the replacement light, the second one stopped working. They must of had a bad batch of photo cells because that is what failed on both lights. Globe Electric did replace the second one as well. So far, both lights are now working correctly.

Motion sensing not working
At first the light stayed off until dusk and then came on with the dim light--that was good, but as soon as the brighter light was activated once, it stayed bright all night. It should have reverted to the softer light after five minutes, but it didn't. I tried adjusting it but no luck.A year later, it behaves exactly like a normal light--it comes on, bright, immediately, day or night, when the switch is turned on. It never turns off unless the switch is turned off. It never dims.Since I had it installed, I can't return it. I replaced my old light in order to get a motion light. This has been a waste of the cost of the lamp and the cost of the electrician.
