Works great!Good for anything where you need to pass a micro USB through.metal, plastic, wood.I've used one in my car and on a DIY Bluetooth speaker.

Not 10GB datarate. False Advertising.
Tight little package, but not full data rate. The specs say 10GB, which is only USB 3.1 Gen 2. This thing is clearly not that.

Panel mount threads strip too easily
I liked the specs and look of this panel mount USB-C "socket." Reviews were good. It mounted well into a hole drilled to the size of the inside of the connection nut. I mounted this to a weatherproof box used to house a Raspberry Pi and astro-camera. I tightened the nut and thought I was good to go. When I placed the box outside and experienced pretty severe rain + wind, I discovered a little moisture seeping into the box via this mounted plug. I tried to tighten the nut and it immediately stripped. Note I did not use excessive force as I was worried about over-tightening. Stripped anyways. Waste of money, unfortunately. I have installed several panel mount sockets for various devices and enclosures - and have not had this issue. Sad to say - not recommended.

It works fine, but the nut is a problem!
Works fine. However; the nut you use to mount it is plastic. The part of the connector that passes through your panel had "cut sides" for making it not twist in the hole. These cut sides make cross threading almost a certainty , then the nut breaks! I was not able to determine the thread and could not fine any replacement nut(5/8-28?).Also you only get one nut, this means you cannot set the depth of the connector in the panel. If used as is the end will stick out of your panel by a large amount. I'm going to use hot glue from the inside in place of the nut to make it come out "flush." I bought two. Same problem on both.

Was sent used item missing parts. Do not recommend.
What's there to say beyond the title. Was sent an item with all the additional parts missing. Cap, nuts etc..

Lacking lines
Does not have either of the high speed diff lines. Good for 2.0 not 3.1.

Worked great. Saved speaker!
Used USB C socket to replace a broken USB mini that came with speaker... Works perfectly and actually charges a bit faster with the thicker wires.... Add a bit of silicone to seal it up. The thick/textured wall the speaker made The lock nut protrude a bit, had to sand the inner rim down to get threads closer together.
