GoPole Lens Cap Kit for GoPro Hero 1 2 and Cameras.

Snug fit and well made. Bought this because I relied on my glass to protect the gopro glass. But the glass got a scratch and you can see it on the recordings. So I got this to prevent from future scratches

Cover works well, just DO NOT leave it attached while riding..it will bounce around and drive you crazy when watching the video. It is very close to the mic and is quite noisyProduct fits well, keeps the lens from getting damaged and is well worth a few bucks to purchase .I just replaced the lens and hopefully this will help it last

After an encounter with some corral on vacation, my GoPro case lens cover got scratched. I chose this lens cap for my Hero 2 after replacing the GoPro case lens cover.Please note that this accommodates the circular case lens covers, not the dive housing case.I am using a hair tie to keep the lens cap connected to the camera to prevent it from knocking against the camera and floating in front of the lens when recording.I have 6 GoPros and now they ALL have lens protection while they are in and out of the cases!FYI make sure you do not keep you GoPro clamped in the case for storage! This will wear out the gasket between the case and the back cover.Hope this helps!

After falling down while hiking, again I noticed I scratched my lens!!! Arrgggg the horror of it all!! Now my videos will come out crappy!! I went out and ordered a replacement lens and saw the lens cap! Great idea!! Added to my cart and placed order.Cap came and went right on my camera. No more scratched lenses for me!!Now for my reason for only 3 stars.... Its a great cap and really protects the lens but.. When I uncap it, the cap ends up swinging into my videos.. thats not gonna work... I put the string lower on my monopod mount and it still got in the way. I wrapped the chord around the screw and that works sometimes till it comes loose and gets in picture again!! I ended up taking it off while I shoot, put in pocket so I wont lose it and shoot like that... But, now I'm back where I started with no cap!!! Wish there was a way to attach it to the back of the camera out of the way.Another problem with it is when I'm shooting on a rainy day (gotta love the rain forest in Hawaii), water will get on the inside of the cap, and when you put it back on camera, the water gets my lens wet. So every time I take cap off to shoot, I have to hopefully have a dry towel to wipe the lens off. Worse when you get mud in that cap... So, I wish they made it just a bit deeper so it doesn't touch the lens.

Why a camera manufacturer would not include lens caps with their cameras is beyond me. The GoPro Hero-1 and -2 never came with lens caps, either for the naked camera out of the case or for over the case port.The camera has two optical surfaces that need to be protected, especially when being tossed around in an extreme environment like in the ocean or in a backpack.Why I have to buy such a basic part separately and from a third party is beyond me.That said, these caps (the blue one for the outside of the case, the smaller one for the camera when removed from the case) work very well.The blue one has a lanyard if you want to attach it to the camera case, although it'll flop in the wind. At least you won't lose it.NOTE: these are exclusively for the GoPro Hero and Hero2 only with original round glass port; not for the Hero3 or for the improved Hero2 dive housing, which has a large flat front.

The plastic lens material on the GoPro original Hero HD and the Hero 2 waterproof housing is very vulnerable to scratches, scuff marks and abrasion against other surfaces during shooting as well as transporting the cameras. And the camera lens itself can also be scratched easily in a careless moment of handling when outside its protective shell. This Dynamic Duo of lens caps is a must have item for anyone owning either of the first two Hero HD models. (NOTE: Not compatible with the Hero 3 housing or cam) Although I have a multiple camera hardside case and a plastic Plano pistol case that holds 4 cameras & accessories for storage and transporting all my camera gear, once in the field, especially for sports and other outdoor action shooting your cameras are very vulnerable. POV action cameras live in a harsh and dangerous environment by their very nature.The small size of GoPro cams makes them perfect for putting in a shirt or jacket pocket or a day pack to carry along and pull out when needed for a quick set up. Now these lens caps are the perfect protection for keeping your camera and housing lenses clean and protected from damage even when in a pocket or pack.Half of my shooting is with the Hero and Hero 2 Flat Lens Dive Housing which comes with a lens cap. The other half of my shots are taken using the original housing or bare bones without the housing for doing time lapse scenes. After using this set for a couple of months I just added another one to my Shopping Cart to purchase on my next Amazon order. No one will be disappointed with the quality of these products or their usefulness. SIX Stars!

I've been having a good time using the HERO2 for a while now, but eventually the glass lens got scratched. When? I've not idea... probably some time when I set it down, and it rolled forward on the lens, or brushed against a tree limb, or was rattling around in my pack (normally protected in a dry sock... but these things can fail). This I hope will reduce that problem, at least when stored or set down. The only addition I can think of would be a moulding on the "other side" (side away from the lens) so when not in use you could push-fit it onto the adjustment knob, or the top clasp, or something; as it stands, either it bounces all over while the camera is recording, or you have to take it off completely... which makes the retention strap a little less useful. Still... simple, robust, and fills a need. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.I have not used the small "camera only" lens cap however: I simply store the actual camera always in the casework, protecting it that way.

After scratching my old lens this seems to be the perfect attachment to prevent this happening again. The gopole lens cap looks nice as well as being sturdy enough to stop a rock / other sharp thing damaging the lens whilst it is not in use. It also comes with a small rubber cover for the actual gopro camera lens that looks cheap but does the job. although i am confused as to why you would not just put the gopro in the case...?

Ich hatte mir auch schon die einfacheren Silikonkappen gekauft, die taugen aber nichts. Steckt man die GoPro in die Tasche, fallen die einfachen ab - nicht sehr sinnvoll. Diese halte jedoch auch in der Tasche und schützen das Objektiv. Dabei waren auch einfache Kappen für die GoPro ohne U-Wassergehäuse. Die nutze ich allerdings nichts, da ich meine GoPros nur im U-Wassergehäuse transportiere.

some times i just need to take the camera down from it's filming possition and it's good to have the lens cap so the camera take no damage while in my backpack or glove compartment on my jetski

Product was ok but not anywhere near the quality and versatility of genuine gopro. Unfortunately I purchased the cover for 2 gopro and not 3 camera. I contacted seller, they informed me what I already knew no offer of assistance whatsoever. Purchase now I suspect in recycling or landfill.
