Delphi TS10163 EGR Position Sensor

The part was a perfect fit. Easy to install and it worked the way it should. Check engine light has not come back on.

I worked in the auto parts business so I know that Delphi was a quality part that was used as original equipment on GM vehicles. This part was well built and worked perfectly.If you research this part you will see it's quite a bargain to get a quality sensor for such a low price

Don't buy the cheap Chinese ones like I did. You'll only wind up buying a better one in a month.

Had a code P1405 (upstream EGR hose off or unplugged) on a 1996 Taurus with a 3.0 OHV V6. After ensuring the hose was intact and not clogged, I ordered this part. The part did fix my problem, but the design is different from OEM. The Hi and Ref ports on the sensor are arranged differently from the original sensor, causing one of the hoses to interfere with another vacuum line. I paid the higher price of a Delphi sensor because I expected superior fit and quality. While the part worked, it wasn't quite what I expected.

Scanned my 98 F-150, code PO402 came up. Research indicated either EGR valve or this valve position sensor. Took off the egr valve, checked that it held vacuum and had no leaks. Installed a new EGR valve position sensor from Delphi, it is plastic unlike the metal original but seems built well. After clearing code took for a test run. So far so good, no check engine light. I would have given it more stars but will wait until I put some miles on the truck. I did hear about some aftermarket ones going bad after a short time but reviews on this one seems to be o.k.

First of all this sensor makes my check engine turn off, installation is a snap, just makes sure don,t mix the hi and ref tubing. Good thing Amazon has it on very low price, After you installed take out the neg on your battery for 5 mins. check engine gone......
