Works perfectly!
This item is as described....I'm using it on a rechargable, specifically to unearth relics found with a metal detector, and this thing is the bees knees for that task - also helps remove rust from said relics, but I'm not really using it for that purpose, just to claw through loose dirt without causing the same damage a shovel would. Repurposed! It also is good as a paint stripper and is sturdy and the tines are well made. Good item, good price, very happy with this purchase.

Tools works great but anvil strips out after a full days use
Tools works great but anvil strips out after a full days use. Light touch is the best way to use the tool but we are doing a large barn project and the anvil just will not hold up within the full functional life of the spring fingers. We have went through three of these thus far.

My advice with experience.
I have had 3 of these. I have stripped all the paint off my wood trim , my cabinets and my floors. Loved the tool but i have had 3 different kinds . This one did not work at all. I couldn't even use it for 5 min and it kept getting tangled up. Now the ones that i have found to work excellent are the ones that are single needles. See where this one has them going both ways on one thing, all it did was get tangled. The single ones go so smooth cause their all the same direction and they don't wrap around the same round bar like this one. I will tell you i will never go without one ever. This tool saved my life and a lot of time and work. It sure was a blessing for me. Also there are 2 of the good ones but i advise you to go with coarse roto stripper cause the thin one kept breaking the needles.

Short Lived
I thought that this might be helpful at taking paint off of some old wood. It worked for about 1 hour. Returned / wrote a letter to the manufacturer, and they said that they would ship a new one.Overall the problem is how the unit is made. There is a bolt that runs through the wheel that is just fused to the center plastic part. So once tool gets used for a while, that bolt is going to shear from the plastic (and its beyond repair). So, for minor work (which I thought I was doing), this would be fine. Maybe a 2 minute job on a cast iron pan, and it won't break. But I don't see this running for more than 30 minutes without snapping.

I bought this to strip old peeling paint from a porch ceiling. It works as advertised, but it's not the end-all solution that I was hoping for. I ended up power washing and scraping with a flat blade to remove the loose paint. I'll be interested in trying it on smaller projects. Also have heard that the disc part of it can separate from the spindle, though the mfr will replace it. Just be careful not to put too much pressure on the wheel.

Safety glasses are required
The rough cut wood siding on the house had paint flaking and pealing off. This tool made it fairly easy to get that paint off and prep the surface for final sanding. It does take some practice but a light touch got the paint off without overly damaging the siding allowing the final sanding to dress things up pretty well. It is absolutely necessary to wear safety glasses as the metal flails eventually work loose and fly off. One might want to wear blue jeans or similar to protect the legs as well. Short story, it worked so well getting half the house sorted out and wearing the tool out in the process that I didn't hesitate to buy a replacement to finish the project.

I bought one of these several years ago at a trade show and wore it out. Was difficult to replace as i searched far and wide. I was happily surprised to find it on Amazon and quickly snapped up several replacements. The tines do not hold up as well as I would like and slower speed is your friend.
