Large scale book about all the large (aka full size) Opel cars from 1934 to 1993. Absolute fascinating! Including coach built derivatives (convertibles, hearses and other professional cars) with countless photos, most from in period and hardly seen before. Very informative, entertaining and highly knowledgable text. People who don’t speak German - please remember this is a German book written in German for the German market. Lovely to see also references to production and sales abroad, in particular to Biel in Switzerland by GM Suisse and by Holden in Australia - even mentioned the exact date the very last Holden was built in 2017. A fact illustrating the book being bang up to date, being published in 2019. Good value for what is a very comprehensive history of a great automotive legacy. They don’t build them like this anymore... but here’s a great homage to those days gone. Highly recommended!

My interest is mainly from 1960 onwards, there is a lot of material on cars before the 60’s. Because the book covers such a wide timeframe the material on the later cars is probably limited. The Granada book in the same series is the same size but focuses more on the era I am interested in.Obviously, both books are written in German (so my reading ability is very limited).

Das Buch ist eine aus meiner Sicht gute Einführung in die Welt der großen Opel. Schön zum Durchblättern aber etwas zu oberflächlich für diejenigen, die sich ernsthaft dafür interessieren. Mir fehlen Einblicke hinter die Kulissen und vor allem Fotos der Innenräume und detaillierte Aufnahmen der äußeren Besonderheiten.Auf die viel zu vielen Fotos der Beerdigungsumbauten hätte gerne verzichtet werden können.Ich würde das Buch nicht noch einmal kaufen.

Ich habe mir etwas mehr Werbe-Abbildungen von den damalige Prospekten erhofft.Das Buch wird mit zusätzlichen aktuellen Bildern ergänzt.Wer Tabellen, Daten sucht findet sie in diesem Buch kaum.
