Honest to God tough! Really cool.
These are pretty cool jeans for work, but so cool I may just save them for casual rugged so I don't get them covered it grease or pocked with welding holes burned in the legs. They are super heavy weight, literally. Thought I might use them for hauling hay. Still might one day, but right now I am too enamored with how cool they are. I just don't think a man could wear these out at all, especially over the front thigh area where they are so doubly thick. They've got some cool looking metal buttons in the waistline under the belt area for clipping on some suspenders. Never seen that before. I wear a belt, not suspenders, but I may just try a set since it would look pretty cool on these jeans. (Just PLEASE, guys, were a shirt with your suspenders if you do that! Gross, not cool.) Anyhoo, I'd love another pair of these. Oh, I am short waisted and prefer jeans that "sit below the waist", as they call them. However, these do not sit below the normal man's waist. They are a little high for my comfort, so the crotch sags down between my thighs and rubs me there. I have put up with this discomfort all my life since I have a short throw from waist to crotch. So far, the only jeans I've found that fit me perfectly are BKE Jeans at the Buckle store, and they are not very cheap. But those are not rugged like these, so I just have to continue to put up with that ill-fitting discomfort since apparently not very many men in the world have a short throw there like I do. I would love to request for Carhartt and Dickies, and any other men's rugged jeans to PLEASE make some of the "low waisted" jeans in your various brands and designs so guys like me could finally be comfortable. But I digress. . .These are no doubt very good jeans!

Quality
Good quality you expect from Carhardt. Stitching is strong and it's great to have a slight stretch to the denim. One of my favorite work pants I use for metal work and general construction.

Great buy. Well worth it.
They fit perfect to size. Are made well and look good on. They were a little long so I had to shorten them.

The steel riveted buttons ruin these jeans otherwise great
The main issue I'd like to share with others so they can be aware of it is the steel buttons used for suspenders that are placed right directly where your hip bone is and dig into your bone when you walk around. I'm seriously tempted to take a knife and cut them out that's how much they bother me. Take a look at the picture and you'll see what I mean, I'll try and upload my own picture as well to show it.They need to redesign them with either sewn on buttons for suspenders, or move the placement of them. Otherwise they're nice solid feeling durable jeans, can't say the cut is very flattering but they're made for work.

Carhartt lites
I try to keep 3 pair of these on hand for my outdoor activities. 1 pair totally ratted out - 1 pair with minor rips, stains, and 1 pair of new ones. The double front with suspender buttons are becoming hard to find. They are required wearing for us out here in big timber country. Again, these wear like iron, fit great (get them large if using suspenders) and protect your upper legs from cuts. The pockets are nice and deep so items inside them stay there. HOWEVER - This model of jeans are like a cheap copy of the heavy duty Carhartts. Thin as grandma's underpants. They won't last. They did not have suspender buttons.

Over 6 months of wash and wear these jeans shrunk in length to the point where they are unwearable.
I am a long time Amazon Prime member. I spend thousands and thousands of dollars buying things from Amazon. I have worn Carhartt workwear of all stylers in all conditions for over 30 years. I have worn the same size jeans for over 30 years.Traditional Carhartt jeans, no matter the style or color have never shrunk, not even a little.I bought three pair of these jeans made of a composite fabric. I don't wear them every day and naturally, rotate a worn paid for a clean one as necessary so any given pair may only get washed once every few weeks. Over the course of 8 months of that kind of rotational washing and wearing, these jeans have slowly shrunk in length to the point where they are now too short to wear without them looking awkward. I called Amazon and spent a long time on the phone, escalating up the customer care chain trying to get them to offer me some kind of recompense. The would not. Amazon flatly refused to offer any kind of solution aside from "too bad." While I am only really out $150 dollars, it is money I resent having spent on products I can no longer use. It is impossible to determine whether a clothing product will withstand the rigors of several months of wash and wear in the 30 days their return policy allows. It is infuriating that a company that makes the kind of profits that Amazon does will not make exceptions in exceptional cases for exceptional customers. It is a disgrace and will be a reason for me to finally, graterfully transition away from Amazon and buy from retailers who care about their high-end customers enough to make allowances when they are truly warranted.
