How to Draw Cats (Dover How to Draw)

Good for 5-years-old
I love the book, but 8-years-old is not interested, way too simple. I think it is good for 5-6 years-old but not for older kids. Anyway would recommend.

Great for beginners
Bought this for my 10 year old daughter's birthday. She loves cats and loves drawing them, daily. This is a good book for beginning artists. Not too complicated, not overly detailed with too many steps. Nice, large pictures to follow.Has helped her be able to draw cats from different angles/poses.Also has a few wild cats as well! An added bonus that was really neat and unexpected.

Great step by step instructions.
My daughter received this for her birthday in April and every week she is learning to draw a new cat! She loves the step by step instructions and spends hours perfecting her cats. Thank you!!

Good for simple drawings.
I like this book. I bought it for my 8 year old. He's having a hard time with it, but I think it's more mental rather than the book's fault. I think once he gets over that, it will be super for him. It shows step by step instructions, with 2-4 steps done in each instruction. The one thing I don't like about it (it's totally a personal preference), is that the book shows how to draw cats like almost cartoon characters. Not how to draw real cats. Maybe this is better for kids? Simpler lines?

A great book for someone who is creative but artistically challenged
I like making (low budget) handmade greeting cards, but I flunked art in kindergarten & it's been downhill ever since. I love cats & so do most of my friends, so I got this book to help create one of a kind greeting cards. I have not gotten good enough that anyone would actually pay for my artwork, but it did what I set out to do -- draw passible, recognizable cats for my friends. I plan to buy other books in this series.

OK for really young children
Listing 10 as the top age for this book is exaggerating. I'd say this book is better for 4-6-year-olds. My 10-year-old is hardly a top-notch artist but this was well below her level. It's also paper thin and doesn't really offer much for an older child that they couldn't get from looking at or tracing pictures of actual cats. There's no "how to", teaching, instruction or techniques given. It's just sample drawings for you to refer to. I'm glad I only paid a few dollars for it.

Purrrrr felt for cat lovers who like to draw.
I bought this for my granddaughter to help them her learn to draw cats, which is her favorite pet. She was thrilled when she opened it. I liked it too. It is very straight forward and gives step by step instructions and short cuts on how to draw cats in different positions. I would recommend to anyone who has children who are interested in drawing. I think even adults would enjoy it too.

I Can Draw!!!
I have never been an artist, but this book has helped me learn to draw my favorite fellow living things. I am still not an artist, but I am learning. At least my cat doesn't hiss at my efforts. I would definitely recommend this seller, the book arrived in perfect condition and well within the time frame described.
