The BOG-POD RSR (rapid shooting rest) is the perfect compact, collapsible, and portable shooting platform. Easy to store in a backpack, and quick to set up, this rest will give you the accuracy and range you need to make that big game shot on the fly.

Perfect!
I took a gamble on this as I had looked at every rest known to man I think trying to find the one that would give me enough elevation to hit the targets at my local range, an issue I had been having for a while. I had a Caldwell Tack Driver, but it was still to short, for my needs at least. I already use Bog Pod shooting sticks for predator hunting, and this product looked like it provided a decent amount of height, so, I tried it. I absolutely love it. I am using a Ruger MPR AR-15 with a Vortex Pro cantilever mount. This rest gives me the absolute perfect height to be dead on center of my targets at 100 yards. It provides a very steady rest and allows you to practice the same as you hunt if you happen to own Bog Pod shooting sticks. Lastly, it is super portable and compact. The legs fold in easily as well. My only complaint is when raising the shooting rest the base of the post can be a little flimsy when you are tightening or loosening it. It is not a big deal whatsoever but the only negative I can even find. The rubber grips on the feet is a nice touch for instance if you had to throw this thing on your hood for a field shot at a coyote or something. If you need a portable and practical rest, then I would definitely recommend this one. I have been very pleased!

Solid, Sturdy, Gives Single Hole Groups
Very nice rest. I won't have to put my rifle on top of an ammo can anymore. Easily adjusts up and down. Be sure to tighten the adjusting ring so the vertical rod doesn't slip. Be careful when you loosen the adjustment ring. If you go too far the locking dogs will fall out and you will have to figure out how all the pieces go back together. It took me about 5 minutes of fiddling around to get it back together the right way. Not a design or construction problem but an operator error on my part. I shot my first ever ten round, single hole group with this rest and I have been trying for a long time..

This is a very sturdy tripod.
This is a very sturdy tripod. The rubber in the rest is non-marring and I don't have to worry about it wearing over time and scratching my firearm. It is great for benchrest shooting and shooting from prone position. The elevation adjustment is very quick and simple. The elevation locks in nice and once tight does not creep lower when you are panning left or right. It does pan left and right very smoothly. The bog-pod system has interchangeable rests, so you can purchase and use the bog-pod shooting rest attachment if you want. It fits easily into a pack or backpack and mine doesn't make any noise opening or closing in the field.

Great Addition To The Range Bag
I bought it as universal rest for my guns when I don't want to attach a bipod or shoot from a fully-featured rest (of which I own quite a collection of both). The nice thing about the Bog-Pod is that it is small enough to fit in my range bag and sturdy enough to handle all of my rifles from .223 through to .338 Lapua (I haven't used it on my .50 BMG as I prefer to use my Atlas bipod on that). Didn't expected to be that well made for its money. The legs are very stable and the height adjustment and fixation work very well. It is low enough to be comfortably used on a table and when lifted high enough to be used when laying on the ground if the grass is not too high.

This unit Is great 5 stars
Ok, looking at this from the pictures i did have some reservation, always been a sand bag or bipod shooter. I was looking for something else to add to the shooting bag. This Is great, perfect design. Simple and well thought out. Seems to be very well made, time will tell on how long this honeymoon will last. I do like the option To swap out the rest for other option, once again, well thought out. Light weight. Compact.
Conceptually I like it. It is light and compact. Easy to put in a range bag. However, I was occasionally frustrated by it, because if the lock nut was not tight enough, it would suddenly collapse after the gun recoiled. I am strong enough to put a good twist on it, but I found it takes a much firmer twist to make it hold. Once tightened properly, works great.

Perfection for varmint hunters and benchrest shooters alike
Can you say, bog pod/ time - if you are a varmint hunter...get one! If you want to "bench" for groups get one! It is extremely stable and very very solidly made- my only minor peeve is lack of tie down however a simple bungee cord fixes that issue quickly/ further securing the firearm into the rest.Definitely a must have!

Solid Metal Construction
Finally, something from the internet I feel is worth the money. Compact enough to carry in the pocket of my rifle or range bag. Sturdy and stable rest for rifle or pistol on range table. The part that is in contact with the firearm is made of a solid foam type material that will not cause any damage yet appears long lasting (time will tell this part). I use it to support my K98 Mauser so I don't want any scratches. Overall very satisfied with this purchase.

Sturdy, nice finish, works great!
I used it on the bench at the gun range and it worked great. The locking ring for adjusting the height isn't smooth, but it does the job. Once the height is locked in, it doesn't move. The legs have some weight to it so you know it's not going to buckle under the recoil. I bought this as a substitute for a dedicated bipod as I often bring different rifles to the range with me. It's the perfect height when sitting at the bench at the range or in the prone position. I haven't used it in the field yet, but its compact size will be a nice addition to my field pack.I also own the tripod adapter (BogGear Adapt-a-Rest) from the same company and a USR universal shooting rest (also from BogGear) so I could use the setup on a tripod for a higher vantage point (i.e. sitting or standing). The yoke is interchangeable making it modular with many setup combinations available.

works well
The tripod appears well made and the legs work well for me. The cradle is just the right size for my rifles. The legs and cradle work well in not being too loose.

I bought this for a backpacking hunting trip. It’s nice because it’s really packable however you pretty much have to be shooting prone which isn’t always realistic while hunting. I wish I spent the extra money and got the model with longer legs so I can shoot while sitting.
