Bluetooth Adapter for 2011 or Earlier Mercedes iPod iPhone 30 Pin Cable - CoolStream CarPro

I have a 2007 E350, with the iPod interface and bluetooth telephone hands-free options. This worked well so long as Apple sold phones with the 30 pin docking connector ... but the switch to Lightning left me unable to effectively play podcasts and music from the phone.This product does exactly what I want -- enables my phone to stream audio (podcasts, music, etc) to the car (via the 'iPhone interface'), and doesn't get in the way of the telephone handsfree bluetooth. When the phone rings, exactly what you'd hope happen does happen -- the audio pauses, the and you can answer the phone handsfree like normal.Two issues, minor. (1) occasionally the phone & handsfree phone bluetooth don't connect to each other ... I think the phone has an issue when two devices attempt to connect bluetooth to it. Solution is easy, press the 'phone' button on the console twice (causing the car to look for the phone again). (2) When you select 'aux' input to the audio system, it unpauses the audio playback on the phone, and when you deselect it, it pauses. There doesn't seem to be a way to pause playback (not even directly on the phone). This may be a feature, but I'm not sure I like it.

This really is a pretty good device. The volume and quality are both good, and the connectivity is quite good as well, something which cannot be said of all bluetooth devices. The downsides for me are:1. It auto plays a random song from my iPhone 7 whenever I start my car. This may not be a Car Pro issue but man is it annoying. I'm thinking to create an empty song track and name it so that it is alphabetically first.2. More annoyingly, it does not turn off when the car is off. I do not know why but the Car Pro device will turn off and on, and every time it turns on it grabs my phone away from any other thing it may be doing (such as playing through my bluetooth headphones, for instance just now I was listening to an Audible book and I walked outside to take something to my car. Once I got close enough my phone kept cutting over to Car Pro (which would just make it pause) and every time I would hit play on my bluetooth headphones it would last for about half a second and then cut over to Car Pro again). And the Car Pro device wakes my phone up too even when my car is off, so even if I'm not actually using it (for instance, my car is parked right outside the window to my office) my phone keeps waking up, which drains the battery. So I end up either turning bluetooth off in my phone or unplugging the Car Pro device. Really annoying.

I have a 2009 Mercedes CLK350 with their god awful integrated 30-pin iPod connection instead of the standard AUX input. Truth be told, I would have been happy to simply get an AUX cord to plug into my iPhone 8, but alas, stupid Apple got rid of the AUX output jack on the phone, so I was stuck with Bluetooth (so shout out to both Apple and Mercedes for screwing me out of my music options). Anyway, after doing a little research, I came across these Bluetooth receivers that plug into the old 30-pin iPhone connections to stream music. The first product I used was the cheaper Aluratek 30-pin receiver. It did NOT work for my situation. I was bummed out because I started thinking such an easy workaround was too good to be true, but I wanted to give the more expensive CoolStream a shot. So i ordered it, plugged it in, and voila! Worked like a damn charm! So easy to use and never drops out. Seamless AND even my steering wheel controls work for it. Awesome! Can't recommend this product enough!

I have a 2009 Infiniti G37x Coupe and this adapter was the answer to what I’ve been looking for. My console had the 30-pin connection for old iPhones and I looked everywhere for an Infiniti lightning pin adapter but could not find one. I had an Apple 30-pin to lightning adapter but it wouldn’t fit through my phone’s hard case (kind of a crappy design). Plus you can’t charge your phone if you have it connected this way. With the CoolStream Bluetooth adapter, I can charge my phone through the cigarette lighter and stream my music wirelessly at the same time. And I’m still able to control my music through the car’s touchscreen. Still works the same way with phone calls and GPS navigation. It’s well worth the price! I almost considered installing a new system which would have been expensive. The only funny thing is it randomly connects at weird times (not when I start the car). So I’ll be driving along listening to the radio and all of the sudden my phone starts playing. Just a weird quirk that doesn’t bother me too much.

I tried the product in an 08 Mercedes Benz R350 with a old style IPod connector in the glove box. Unfortunately the product did not work for me. I must say though, the manufacture was amazing to work with. They are located here in the USA and upon learning that I was having issues, they immediately sent me a new one to try out... Without asking me to send back the original one I had purchased. We tried the new one and again it did not work. In all fairness, it could have been a hardware issue on our end. We eventually sent the product back for a full refund. Even though this product didn't work for us, I would highly recommend this company to anyone considering any products they sell. I was missing my bluetooth streaming audio until I got this! It just works, sounds great, and has no issues. Also integrates perfectly with the existing call-only bluetooth system, when someone calls the music pauses and I can take the call normally. When I hang-up the music resumes. Also the iPod controls on the steering wheel work with Google Play Music via bluetooth as well, so I can skip forward and backwards in the playlist. When I jump in the car and start it up, the last song I was listening to starts where it left off the last time I was driving.

Works like a dream in my 2009 ML 500Once you connect the Bluetooth there is no need to even turn the music on from your phone the next time you get into the car. Apple Music plays as soon as you enter the car.
