A work of extraordinary clarity and insight
Although I have been a long time reader in topics of contemporary art theory and criticism I have never written a book review. I decided to do it this time in praise of Professor Rebentisch extraordinary accomplishment. From the very first pages the book makes no effort to hide its outstanding ambition: to present a theoretical foundation for today's contemporary art in general, and installation art in particular, that recovers the explanatory power of modernist art theory writing while deploying a deep criticism of its foundations. To this end Professor Rebentisch makes an extraordinary voyage through modernist aesthetics and criticism - Adorno, Heidegger, Greenberg, Fried, Krauss, among others - in what I read as a brilliant attempt to recover the critical sharpness and relevance of these writers while questioning the very basis of their thought, and to put it to use in a refreshing and thoughtful theory of what makes todays most advanced art the rightful inheritor of the modernist avantgard, in what seems to me a powerful attack on the "I don't care about theory" mindset beyond most contemporary art writing.Professor Rebentisch attempt to make her complex argument clear even to the less knowledgeable reader is remarkable. She makes all effort to present the structure of her logic from the very book cover to a powerful result: a deeply serious philosophy work, that grabs the reader from the first page in a sharp and clear presentation of its logic.Remarkable in insight, with deep implications for contemporary art thinking and extraordinarily well written, I cannot but call it a Masterpiece.

I am very much satisfied with the time of delivery and compact packing. I tried to get the book here and there including other Amazon site, but failed. As I am not good at Japanese, I can not write in Japanese. Thanks
