To Hell and Back: (A couple of times)

Friend's names redundant, parts of book seemed out of context and she was NOT a victim of Florida
I haven't finished reading this book but so far I'm on the fence as far as a rating. The book seems to list so many names of her socalled friends from every area that she lived that it seems redundant (all she had to have said was that she made new friends, period, and not list all their names). Also, I just finished reading the part (early in the book) where she said that she went on to have more kids and grand kids then goes back to her early life .... this part seemed to be out of context. Also, one poster stated that she was thrust into a life in Florida including drugs, violence etc when she went looking for these types of friends of her own free will ... it's not like she was a victim ... she had been previously smoking pot in the Bronx for many years before the move and would have, more than likely, progressed to other drugs no matter where she lived. I will now finish the book and, perhaps, come back with adifferent viewpoint but so far I'm not impressed. Well, I finally finished the book but I don't see how any human being could work all day and then party and get drugged up every night ... it's just not humanly possible. Therefore I can't recommend it as a true story ... it seemed like most of it was a fantasy story made up to sell the book. There were also many numerous grammatical and spelling errors ... it's evident the book was not edited/proof read by aprofessional.

It shows how easily we can stray off our intended path and it ...
I just finished reading this book. It is very powerful. It shows how easily we can stray off our intended path and it shows how we can find our way back. Chris' story is amazing, through it all she proves she is a fighter and strong enough to survive. It is not written in typical format, it is her own description of her memories as her life progressed. A great eye opener for young adults and an inspiration for any of us trying to find ourselves.

A positive story!
Great book! It read like the author is talking to you. It’s an amazing story of just how much God can help you overcome, you just have to let him in.

Take a deep breath
This a riveting story of a teenage girl from NYC who moves with her family to the land of pickup trucks, bikers, drugs, sex and violence in western Florida. It is a true story told in amazingly heartbreaking detail and it's a wonder that she not only survived this wild ride but somehow thrived in the aftermath. Take a deep breath and buckle your emotional seatbelt because this rollercoaster has no brakes!
