As good as it gets.
Nice stove. Light weight. Stable base. Fuel efficient. Good flame control. The perfect balance between heavier multifuel stoves, and mini stoves lacking a stable base. I've owned them all. I have thousands of miles and hundreds of meals on each of the various types of backpacking stoves. Each has its place, and its advocates. I find the Vega to be the best all-around stove for three-season use, given the elements of. weight, stability, fuel efficiency, and flame control. It has the bonus of actually functioning well in cold weather making it a nice four-season option. My only hesitation to calling it a perfect four-season stove, is my experience with other canister stoves in cold weather at high altitude. They struggle, or they just don't work. That said, the Vega is my new go to favorite anywhere east of the Mississippi. If it proves to be as durable as stoves that I have owned for 30 plus years, it may become my all-time favorite.

Great product! Worth every penny!
This product is fantastic!!! Simple, sturdy, strong! Without flipping the propane over, just gas alone, is super strong! I cooked my trout in less than 10 minutes as if I cooked over a stove at home. If you're an avid fisherman or outdoorsman that likes to cook outdoors on a whim, you gotta try this out! Highly recommend it. Compact, easy to use and stable. What more can you ask for?

It’s fine. Not perfect. Worth the money.
Gave it 4 stars because it seems difficult to regulate the flow of fuel. Also, if you bump or even just tap the fuel canister while you are running, it gives it like a super turbo increase. Not sure if that is common for inverted canister stoves, or just this one. Overall , it’s reliable. Also, the fuel line could be a little more flexible and longer. Seems to always want to remain curved.

Best canister stove on the market.
This is the best canister stove I've ever used. This stove is quiet, hot, efficient and lightweight. It offers stable cooking, a very usable windscreen, very good broad heat distribution for actual cooking, not just boiling. I only wish it had a built in piezo igniter, which it sacrifices to minimize weight.I don't do any high altitude camping, but the upside down canister mode feature also comes in handy when the canister is almost empty. Just flip it over when the canister approaches empty and you can get a steady burn until its completely empty.

Excellent Craftsmanship
I can not explain how much i am in love with this little backpacking stove. Unfortunately with something so small and convenient, there is a very tiny downfall and that is stability when it does not have a pan on top. If the gas line is bent in a specific direction, it almost tips over when removing the pan. Just be aware and make sure it is on the most flat surface you can find in the outdoors and you will be fine.

Great stove! Lightweight
Great stove! Lightweight, Good flame control. For a canister stove, it works great in extreme conditions, such as cold, alpine environments due to the 4-season mode. It is very stable and can be used with a wind screen, which is included. Holds a large pot safely. Will not tip over easily. Do some research and figure out if you want an integrated cooking system (i.e. Jetboil), a screw-on-top-of-the-canister stove (i.e. Pocket Rocket), separated burner like this, or a mixed/liquid fuel stove. All types have various advantages and disadvantages, and no system is perfect for every backpacking situation, however, if this is the style of stove you are looking for, you would be hard-pressed to do better than the Vega.

Two stoves, BOTH total fails.
I was excited about the Optimus Vega as a replacement to my MSR Whisperlite. I did plenty of research before going with the OV.First stove failed to light. I tried multiple canisters, to no avail. I tested the canisters on other devices and they worked fine. I tried again and again, trying to troubleshoot problems. Nothing.Amazon offered to send a replacement and I accepted, hoping I had a one time fluke stove. The replacement stove arrived promptly. Right out of the box, the first canister I screwed on actually hissed out gas all over my hand. I made sure the threads were correctly aligned and attempted to attach multiple canisters. Again, nothing.I made sure both stoves had the o ring. I made sure all canisters worked when connected to other devices.Bottom line is both stoves are complete fails, right out of the box. Now, I have to risk Covid by going to a UPS store to return these units. So, buyers beware when considering the Optimus Vega. For that price point, there are very reliable stoves that will not leave you in the lurch, cold and hungry, out in the woods.
