I’ve never modified any of my cars in anyway shape or form other than basic accessories like seat covers, steering wheel covers, etc. I was a bit nervous when I saw tools were required, but it was super easy.The included tool did not work with my car model. The screws holding the gauge together were T20 star screws, luckily I had some on hand.

The install was straight forward and easy to accomplish.The spring grip is nice and it has not dropped my phone.The ball joint behind the spring phone grip is not very good. It is difficult to get tight enough to stay in the same place. Be careful when tightening - it is possible to strip the threads, then it will never be tight (that happened to me).

I thought I had got the right model for my mini. But yeah, other than that and getting the correct one it looked like a pretty sound product.

I liked the idea of this holder in terms of where it's positioned in the car, but this thing is built really poorly. Very thin plastic on the back ball joint, so you can't actually tighten it enough to keep the phone stable. The phone clamp is also not tight enough, so even the slightest bump makes the phone fall out (I have an iPhone 11 pro, so one of the smaller/lighter models). I returned it after one drive.

The drilled holes do not match up with the screws behind the tachometer. Had to drill them both larger to stretch out the pattern. The tool to take out the screws on the tachometer doesn’t match the screw heads. The piece that attaches to the holder isn’t very secure, moves when inserting the phone.

Directions provided may not line up directly as my screws to remove the tach were under the front, not behind the unit.Make sure to tighten the back nob after putting your phone in so bumps don't knock it around.

It is not mentioned anywhere, but a T20 screwdriver is required to remove the gauge from the dash for easy access to the mounting screws.

It’s so hard to fit unless you have the right screwdrivers. The Alan key it comes with is too big to get behind the speedometer so you need a different screwdriver to take off the whole thing just to het behind :/
