Vaunn Non-Contact Medical Infrared Forehead Thermometer for Children and Adults

Hello COVID-19 home checks! I haven't found any inaccuracies as described in some other low reviews. The only reason I'm giving it 4 out of 5 is that it feels a little clunky in my hand, even a year later, despite weekly and sometimes daily checks. Somehow I find the hand grip just slightly... odd in its shape (size 7 glove FWIW). The texture of the plastic is nice though (I'm pretty particular about how things feel) and it performs exactly as I'd expect - easy to use, easy to read, and fast results. Still on the same set of batteries too.

For the price and the featured pictures, I really wanted this forehead thermometer to be “the one”... but I ordered two (from different companies) just in case I had issues with this one. It arrived within two days (w/o Prime) and was very easy to use. The instructions are pretty detailed, but when you read them there are so many “fine line” rules that will make the thermometer give incorrect readings (no sweat, oil, hair/facial products, etc on your forehead... and also restrictions like you should be indoors for a period of time before using, etc. — so that was questionable. Although the device was super easy to use (function-wise), it felt VERY flimsy and cheap (light-weight, loud clicking with the buttons as if they could pop off, etc). Lastly, the thermometer pictured is gray and white. I bought it for the price and modern look. What I received was blue and white with their logo on the bottom— so while it’s the same thermometer, the detailing is still different which I feel is misleading. Oh! And the temp consistently given to me was around 96 degrees... which is low for my body temp. Compared to my digital thermometer it was about 2-3 degrees lower than what my body actually was. And the instructions also advised you to use ANOTHER thermometer if you are unsure of the infrared’s measurement... soooo yea. It was inexpensive, but I don’t think I’d recommend this if you need accuracy and style in a thermometer. I DO appreciate the fast shipping though— maybe if they had other items I’d order them simply because the shipping was really great.

It would be helpful if it had a green/red light to indicate if you had an elevated temperature or not. The temperature reading (numbers) are big enough to read, but there is also a very small smiley emoji that pops up that indicates you do not have a fever. It's super hard to see if it's a happy or sad emoji and there are no other lights, so you have to know what temperature range is normal.

Quick shipping, and easy to use, but the calibration may be a little off. If a small business is using this to screen employees the directions say the person should be in the environment for 30 minutes before testing their temperature. So if screening employees at the beginning of the shift is the primary use, this might not be the best option. Otherwise it is quick and easy to use.

Works well. Once it the power is on, you must wait a second for it to self check. It beeps when it is ready and you simply place it in front of the forehead and press start. Only takes a sec or two and the temperature reading is visible, the thermometer beeps when it is done. It works well, but I would prefer a thermometer that doesn’t have to self check first.

This is the last of four digital, non-contact forehead thermometers I attempted to order through Amazon.com, and the first and only one that arrived! Less than two weeks, order to arrival (the first I tried to order was more than10 weeks ago, and has yet to arrive!). Compact, exactly as described, and very easy to use.

Purchased this to take employees temperature. It’s a great product but more so for children’s forehead. It looks bigger in the picture.

Very easy to use. Some trouble when using outdoors. Otherwise, a great option for maintaining a safe work environment.
