MacGregor Team Roller Equipment Bag

I bought this after spending 6 weeks in physical therapy for a shoulder injury from carrying around my previous (non-wheeled) team bag and throwing it in my truck. The bag is huge, the handle extends nicely and wheels work great. That said, at the beginning of my second season with the bag the zipper broke - it unzips in both directions and won't close. I tried to find MacGregor's website to see about a repair or maybe a discounted replacement, but oddly could not find a URL for them anywhere!I'm hesitant to buy another one if the life expectancy is a single rec ball season, we'll see.

Great bag at a great price! Very large, good size for a team equipment bag. With super saver shipping, I received it in 3 days. The end compartments of the bag are the perfect size for first aid kit and smaller items. The only things that would make this bag better are a plastic bottom and eliminating the pull out handle. It has nice wheels and 2 plastic runners on the bottom to keep it off the ground, but the fabric will still probably wear through on the bottom (corners especially). It would last longer if the whole bottom was plastic. The pull out handle is in a zippered pouch. This pouch and zipper is just going to fill with dirt and I imagine the handle will be hard to pull out and the zipper won't work when it gets too dirty. The handle also adds weight to the bag. It would have been better with a cloth handle sewn to the end of the bag. In fact, a cloth handle on each end would make lifting the bag into your car or truck much easier. Still, a great bag!

I bought two of these bags. Two kids are catchers. These bags are HUGE. To put it into perspective - We put BOTH sets of full catcher's gear, 5 gloves, two batting helmets and a girls softball face mask in one bag - with some room to spare.For those keeping count:5 gloves: consisting of 2 fielders, 2 catchers and a first baseman's glove2 sets of catching gear: 4 leg guards, 2 chest protectors, 2 catchers helmets2 batting helmets: One with a face mask and the other normal1 infielders softball maskA single set of gear fits with plenty of room for whatever else you need for a game or two.The zipper and material appear to be normal strength, nothing heavy duty and not too flimsy. The bag has one center compartment and two end compartments.The pull out handle resides behind a zippered area. The bat storage is in the same area that the handle is in. There is a plastic separator for the bats that keep them away from the handle. I don't really like the handle and bats area/setup, but for the price and space, I can live with it.EDIT 06/23/2013 - The zipper finally blew out on the bag. I ordered two more. I carry softball coaching equipment in one and baseball equipment in the other. I typically carry at least one bucket of balls, most of the time 2, in each bag along with empty 5 gal buckets. I also carry the 7x7 SKLZ net in one of the bags, a few gloves and other equipment. I loaded the bag with so much stuff, it took two of us to lift it into the back of a pickup truck. My review hasn't changed. I really like these bags.

I bought one of these gear bags over a month ago. I wanted to get some use out of it before I wrote a review as I was somewhat concerned about the zippers.So with almost two months of use, I am very pleased with the product. I use it around four times a week as I usually have two games and two practices a week for the team I manage.First and foremost, this thing holds a TON of gear!How much is a "TON" you ask?Well currently I have...3 youth catchers helmets3 youth shin guards (one with knee savers attached).3 Catcher chest protectors3 catchers gloves2 first aid kits7 ice packs1 Youth J-bands1 home plate broom1 Umpire clicker1 zip lock baggie with glove oil, glove conditioner and two ragsThe gear is still not full and is approx 70% full. IMHO as long as you don't over-stuff the bag the zippers are fin and will hold up.The long shoulder strap is kind of useless as I would do nothing but walk in circles if I attempted to walk with this strung over my shoulder. It does however help when I lift it into the back of my truck.There are also two smaller carry handles that I use more often.The most useful items are the wheels and the telescoping carry/pull handle.The only drawback was the box this thing came in was huge so it had to be broken down to fit in the garbage.All in all this is well worth the price!

Look everywhere else and they want 75 to 100 bucks. This bag has SPACE!!! Did I say SPACE??? Yeah ... I am a High School Umpire and I have everything and I mean everything in this bag and that includes spare clothing ... For the first time I am absolutely prepared for any game situation and all in one bag.Side note, someone mentioned no place for bats ... Not true, if you look inside where the arm pulls out there is space for bats ...It is worth the hard earned money spent ...thank you Amazon ...and that's NO BS!!!

For something that folds so flat, this thing opens-up to a very large height, leaving room for some bulky, equipment. You could probably fit 'two' batting helmets on top of each other and still have enough height. In terms of capacity, my guess is that I could get between 'one-and-3/4' - and -'two' typical 'grocery store shopping carts' worth of stuff in the interior volume of this bag. I'm also impressed with its quality...a heavy duty nylon.

This is for those of you who are looking for kit bags for cricket. The bag is more than perfect for a team kit. It had been a long time since I purchased a kit and was not sure about the size since I was getting it online. But this is one LARGE bag for a team's cricket kit. It will easily fit all the cricket gear of a team (including the pads)
