This cutlery set is wonderful!It's incredibly lightweight, sturdy, and elegant :^)There were a lot of comments regarding the straw and the splinters inside, and yes, there were splinters, but i simply wrapped some sandpaper around a small dowel and ran it through the straw a bit and it's perfect now! :^DSome folks have asked if there's a coating, and some have said there's a lacquer.However, there is no lacquer coating on the cutlery, it's a bit of curing oil used to seal natural wood and help prevent bacterial growth and such. Walnut, tung, grapeseed, and hemp oil are some of the commonly used oils, so perhaps message the seller if you wish to know specifically what they use.A note on cleaning: There is, of course, the hand washing aspect, but i generally avoid dishsoaps and detergents as those chemicals can be absorbed by the wood. So i do a basic hot-water & salt scrub, and if possible, leave them to dry in a place where the sun shines on them, as UV rays kill bacteria.If you care for this set properly it will serve you well :^D

It's very lightweight yet strong. I didn't get any small fork (the 4th (i guess) pic shows the version with a fork). Its great overall. I'll buy the black ones next time. Also the bamboo straw is very nice but hard to clean because there's tiny wood strings inside.

I feel like a queen using my cutlery set at work. This set stays in my office drawer so I have them when at work. I prefer heavy cutlery and they are slightly heavier than my home cutlery so much so that I wish I had a full 4 place setting. I feel like the fork angle is comfortable, the knife cuts through my salads and sandwiches. I am grateful it has a case and a bag for storage. Not much to say other than it fits what I need, didn't come broken and feels like it will last a long time.

I like the set overall and the carrying case. I've used it for the past couple weeks and should've realized that the utensils are much bigger since they are wood.I use the spreader? (not the butter knife) and spoon the most, haven't had a chance to test the fork out. But because the spoon is much thicker and bigger than a regular metal spoon and with a longer handle, it doesn't feel right when eating out of it. I am unfortunately going to have to replace this and probably the fork with something closer to the size of regular utensils.

I bought this set of utensils to reduce my plastic utensils usage at school. I like it to be very light weighted and classic looking. However there are still a few small issues with it. First being the bamboo straw. It has so many visible splinters in the hole, which make it looks unsafe to use and clean. It also holds up the odor or previous drinks so much. I decided to stop using it after 2 drinks. The second issue is the awkward design of the utensil. It was hard to use the fork and spoon at the beginning because their angles are slightly different from my home utensil set. But it takes pretty short time to get used to it.

We've been getting more into travel items and less into one use and discard. I noticed this set and figured it was worth a try. Off the bat i noticed a could of differences. They were longer than regular cutlery i use. Not a put off, but thought it was and interesting difference. There are a couple of items i haven used yet but i'm sure i'll get to using them. We have hard water at home and the only draw back with the set is that since its dark, the spots show up pretty quick. Other than that its a great set.

I ordered this utensil set and one by a different manufacturer (whose set was in a zippered case). I opened this one and inspected it and it was ok, the utensils didn't hold in their slots as well as I would have I liked but I really liked the set. Unfortunately after actually using it for the first time, I opened the case and one side of the snap disconnected leaving the snaps together but no longer attached to the case. I logged into Amazon as soon as I could however I was unable to return as i missed the timeline. My advice, don't buy this product and if you do/did, rigorously test it to ensure it won't fail you when you need it. Now I have to wrap piece of twine around the case, leaving utensils to jiggle around worse than before the snap broke. I should have returned it on first inspection.

I was so excited for this purchase and it just came in today. However, when I opened my package I was missing a lot of the items, and the cutlery I did receive are not what is shown in the picture. Very disappointing and got a refund from amazon.
