On the face of it, it appears to be very simple to use. Unfortunately it can give you false readings. Some sites had to be scanned several times before getting a correct reading. There is no "deep scan" option on this unit. The electrical lines detector NEVER detected any power lines at all. The most I can give this unit is 2 1/2 stars. Its okay, for the money, but not great.

Be Happy that I gave my HD35 on star.
FAR FAR, let me repeat Far to many false indications of the studs. I can locate a stud on one edge and nothing on the other. I next go back to the one I located to see that there is zero, I repeat Zero indication of a stud. I rate this device as totally substandard. On on top of that, the device often beeps as I scan across the walls. No idea what that means. And yes I am re calibrating often.

Zircon Studsensor HD35: problem samed.
Where I had one easy project (find stud, drill holes, mount bike rack), now I have drywall repair & decided to mount bike outside. Absolute POS. Wildly inconsistent readings with itself - indicating a stud in one spot, then not confirming the same stud on a separate reading. Avoid. Returning mine from HD now. Boo. Basically seems like it RANDOMLY indicates studs. piece of junk. Wondering if Home Depot colludes with Zircon to sell more spackle and paint to fix the problems they anticipate you will CREATE with this piece of garbage...
