Cheap and Effective
Replaced standard vent on east facing wall with this. Massive reduction in cold draughts through extractor fan, and no noticeable loss of extraction performance. It rattles a bit when it's working - but that just tells us we're being kept warm! It was the many days of strong northeast winds last month which got me looking for a solution. If I'd known such a simple resolution was available, we wouldn't have suffered for so long!

It works
Fitted to the outside of the trunking for our replacement kitchen extractor fan, which did not have built-in flaps. Easy to fit, just pushes into place. I found the flap a bit light, it was flapping about in the slightest breeze. I cured this by gluing a penny to it, making the flap a little heavier without affecting its operation.

Does the job but could be better.
I got this for my perspex window in my garage as a extraction for my inline fan. This is light weight as described.The flap that should keep bugs out and stop air comming in does not fully cover the 6" hole. As its light and has no spring it will flap and tap in winds.It does the job but not of high build quality.

Very flimsy and not fit for purpose.
This item was so flimsy and as soon as I looked at it I realised it was not fit for purpose. The draft damper at both sides did not cover the hole - so you could not call it draft proof as wind and cold air will come howling through. Definitely avoid wasting your time. It also arrived with the packaging slightly open and there were what looked like 4 rust spots or brown marks on the inside of the vent. The plastic grill at the bottom was so thin and the gaps wide - any critter wanting to come in would have had easy access.
