Gold, Silver & Precious Stones: The Doctrine of Rewards and Losses

Very Bible Based view of judgement and rewards
Because salvation is by 'grace alone' the church can sometimes lose sight of the fact that the Bible repeatedly talks about different levels of ';reward'. These are not for somehow clocking up 'good works' but they are about lifestyle as lived in the grace of God. Roger Forster;s book is a much needed and careful study of what the Bible says about this.

This book is Gold and Silver
I just finished reading this book, and I have no problem giving it four stars (I considered giving it five stars, but I rarely do!). This book covers a subject, a puzzle really, which I had pondered on some years ago (with no-one to help me solve it) before I came across Roger Forster's teaching on it, which he has (finally!) distilled into book form. This book confirms what I learned, but with more space for scriptural back-up and quotes from the early church. The problem it solved me was that I had learned that salvation was by grace alone, but didn't know what to do with so very many scriptures, such as in the sermon on the mount, that promise an eternal or heavenly reward for works, if we do this, if we don't do that, etc. Roger Forster's book sets out the whole solution why salvation is by grace alone, and why works get a heavenly reward - and I don't know of any other book on the market that does that. I've come across a booklet or two, but this may very well be the first book length treatment of the subject, and it has no rival, as far as I know. Highly recommended.
