Ink capacity, fewer parts
Because of the length of these converters, I thought that they would hold more ink than the standard converters. I was wrong, because they are so narrow, they have the same capacity as standard converters. I fill my converters with an ink syringe, so I do not need to squeeze these converters. However, they have fewer parts to wear out or leak, so I think that they are an improvement over the syringe type of converter.

Didn't fit Waterford Kilbarry Edge fountain pen
Didn't fit Waterford Kilbarry Edge fountain pen which does accept international size cartridges. The converter's metal sleeve is slightly too large (0.275") and prevents inserting the converter fully into the pen's nib. Didn't have another fountain pen to try so perhaps this is peculiar to the Kilbarry Edge. Otherwise seems good quality.
