I'm struggling to tighten the nuts to the screws. Do I need to remove the blue plastic pieces? How do I remove these? Thanks.

The blue plastic caps are to stop the nuts from the weather. Flick them off with a screwdriver (not phillips). This then exposes the main tightening nut. Once tightened replace the caps.

Is it possible to buy the back board separately so that it can also be a basketball set?
